Time

Question

Have you ever thought about how in the past they did basically horrible things to people with epilepsy. And now we say it was savage and sadist doing it.

In 100, 200, or 300 years, I wonder if it will be something that's cured in like 2 weeks tops.

Will the epileptics of the future look back and think we were treated poorly?

I am so tired. So the long EEG test results came in. I have generalized seizures. When I first met the doctor I told him several times I have generalized seizures. It was literally recorded in the doctor's paperwork from 1985 and onward to current day! I handed him copies of the documents! 🤬

My mom went with since the doctor office is an hour's drive one way. He did assure her that her taking antibiotics during pregnancy didn't give me seizures, which was nice.

But also went on a rant about you can't have temporal lobe seizures and generalized seizures in the same person.

So now I get a tilt test, a sleep test, and they want me to see a cardiologist. My current cardiologist says I h

Rant

Why don't doctors talk to each other?

My cardiologist thinks my diabetes meds are making my heart worse. My diabetes doctor says my cardiologist is full of poop.

My epilepsy doctor is giving me medicine that my eye doctor says is going to make me blind.

My shrink wants me to take meds that will make my epilepsy meds less effective.

I just wish they would talk to each other. I won't even go into how my kidneys are now failing because of all the meds.

Question

I'm thinking of getting an eye patch for the eye I can't see out of. But I wear glasses and all the ones I find are literally slip over your glasses.

I found a really nice dragon one, but it would have to go over my glasses.

Does anyone have advice on this?

I have had seizures for over 39 years. I have never had an aura before.

It started at work. I started getting emotional and crying, then I felt weird. I felt like a huge disaster was coming.

I asked to go home. I almost made it home. I stopped in the exit to a grocery store. I was standing outside of the exit door. I woke up on the ground. People were pushing their carts around me. No one asked if I was even ok. I don't remember walking back to the house. But I woke up in front of my door.

So, is it possible that after 39 years, that I suddenly developed auras?

I had what I considered a temporal lobe seizure recently. I didn't jerk, fall down, etc.

I was able to continue talking and it lasted a minute or less.

I talked to my neurologist today. He said it was impossible for me to have a temporal lobe seizure, because I have generalized epilepsy. Am I crazy? Did something change in science? I've always been told I had both.

And me falling asleep and sleeping. Ore than 12 hours at a time? Can't possibly be my medicine. I must have narcolepsy as well. Even though this never happened before my new meds.

I feel like I'm in some funky alternate world from this doctor.

Any advice would be welcome.

I have been having sleep issues while on these drugs.

I've literally fallen asleep at work. One time I fell asleep at like 10 am, my mom took me home and I slept till 7 am the next morning.

I know we are not doctors But my neurologist thinks my meds cause "a little drowsiness". I have another appointment with him in April.

I just wanted to know if anyone else ever had this type of drowsiness. Because my doctor seems dead set on keeping me on my meds. And I do have other meds for other issues. But this didn't start happening until he upped my dosages.

This is from the manga. So beware spoilers.

!it was said in the manga that Shigaraki's body is trying to find the best form to protect him. What if his body decides the safest form is a younger Shigaraki? Like from right after he killed his family?!<

Can a focal onset non-motor seizures be just emotional? Or is it like all the emotions or is it just one? During one of these you can still move? Like could it be just being totally irrational and angry?

Yes, I know other things cause this too. Like meds or other disabilities. Just wondering if its possible

So, 2 of the people whose car i hit are suing me. They want 100,000 each.

First question I asked the nurse after the wreck was did I kill someone. She said no, but 2 of them came to the hospital and were basically out in 30 minutes. So she was sure they were ok.

But now I have guilt. I know I scared people with the seizure. I know the wreck wasn't like a huge wreck, but still bad. I'm tearing myself up with guilt.

I also admit I'm angry with my mom. She pushed and pushed me to go to the mayo clinic to ensure I needed medication. They saw no activity and took me off it over a year

It was so nice not to be suicidal and angry all the time. Ot was nice to be able to cook. I live alone and

My mom bought me an apple watch because I keep on having seizures. She wants me to get an app that will alert her if I have a seizure. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Can Samsung watches track your heart irregularities as well as an apple watch? My cardiologist is pushing me to get an apple watch but that means I'll have to switch my phone.

I love my mom. She's always been there for me. In the past 6 months I have been in the hospital for an extended stay 3 times.

But my mom is currently not worried about any of my medical issues. She's worried because the hair at the very top of my head is developing a bald spot. It's because of my meds, no biggie. She wants me to go to a clinic, get blood drawn out of me (I'm anemic) and have the blood injected into my head. So that maybe I can grow hair on my head.

But my grandmother had much thinner hair than me, and she never offered this to her. My brother shaved his head because of his receding hairline. She only offered it to me because "girls should not be bald."

I've been fighting

On March 28, I had a seizure while driving. I had been taken off epilepsy medication way back in 2019 because "I outgrew it". Cracked some ribs. Nothing much wrong with me. They kept me un the hospital for 5 days. That's 5 days absent from work. I needed a doctor note to return. My job does not accept hospital release notes. The hospital also refused to give me pills to stop my seizures.

My primary care doctor refused to give me a doctor's note. I have to see a neurologist. It takes 3 weeks to get in to see one, but I had a bunch of saved vacation leave.

1st neurologist - mom drove me there. Had a seizure in the parking lot. Neurologist said take her to the ER. My mom tried to get her to

My doctor is on vacation until late August/Early September.

Other times things looked normal, and this time it doesn't. And I am driving myself crazy looking at the results
