For those who are prone to procrastination, now is the time to think about your winter fuel requirements.

  • Shop around for rates and consider locking in a contract within the next month.
  • Schedule any repairs that you might have been putting off
  • Set a date for your annual maintenance and first delivery
  • You should be saving money now for those winter fuel bills that are coming. Ideally, you should have saved about half of your fuel needs by next month.

That's all, thanks!

I have a Mr. Buddy heater with a propane hose attachment and several #20lb cylinders. After reading the manuals it seems that the #20lb cylinders should be stored outside and the hose ran through a window / door to the Mr. Buddy heater inside.

Here is my predicament. I live on the second floor, so I can't really just set the propane cylinders outside. These were the alternatives that I imagined:

  1. Rig a propane cylinder to hang outside a window. This would be pretty handy as I have plenty of windows and could maximize the hose run. Ideally some sort of purpose-built bracket that would handle the weight and forces safely.
  2. Set the propane cylinder at the top of my stairs in the hallway (

I have a 1-year old Gobi rack w/ accessories for a 2-door 2019 Wrangler. Suggestions where to post such an item would be helpful as I haven't a clue. I am in New England. Thanks!

Just lost another bid. 30 competitors. Someone bid 20%+ over asking on a place in pending need of a new roof, new windows, new bathrooms, new kitchen flooring, radon mitigation and a host of other quite costly items. Roof and windows alone will push the house to over 500k with what they bid. Metro area of 250k. The house was valued under 300 just 7 years ago and received no significant updates in that time.

Where exactly do people think this roller coaster is going? I am about to hurl for these people.

I am still learning Elixir and I am not sure what the best method for handling a global configuration file is. What I need is to be able to read and write in a human readable file format (INI, YAML) a global configuration file that I can easily call throughout my application. For comparison in another language, this would be equivalent to parsing an INI file and storing it in a global registry.

  1. Config works the way I want in that I can easily call application_env throughout my application. However, it doesn't fit the bill as there is no writer and it's only somewhat human readable.
  2. ConfigParser reads an INI but has no write option. I am also not sure how to store the parsed result in

I am not sure why I am struggling so much with this. Maybe because I am not overly familiar with Ruby?

I have a hash that I am passing to map() and I need to know my position while iterating inside map() (e.g. I am on X pass inside the map). It appears that I can retrieve the hash index, but not the position.

Okay, no big deal I guess. I extract the keys of my hash into a $hash_keys variable. Now inside of map() I want to search $hash_keys for a key and retrieve the array index (e.g. the position). Except now I don't see a function to search an array for a value and return its index.

What is the function I am looking for and why does it feel like I am going against the grain so much her

Is anyone here using either the Metro Breeze and/or Downeaster for daily commutes? My girlfriend is looking for a way to avoid driving 295 and these options seem okay on the surface.

It looks like the Metro Breeze has 9 stops with around 40 minutes of commute time. The Downeaster (no stops) has 35 minutes of commute time and then she would have to transfer to a bus (1-2 stops) for a <10minute commute. This is versus a 25 minute drive.

What's the good, bad and ugly?
