We moved to a new place and once again have AT&T Fiber, and we need to try to reliably extend wifi outside to an in-law unit that will be occupied by a single human with a few typical wifi devices (phone, laptop, smart TV, etc) so it doesn't need gigabit speeds. I currently do not have a need to VLAN the unit's traffic off from the main network, but that would be nice.

Complicating factors - we cannot run anything through the attic or through any of the walls. No drilling holes. I am unsure if I can run any cables outside of the house. It's northern California so I am not sure if there are code requirements for cables outside, and we also have a lot of squirrels here. They tend to chew

It's about that easy. I moved out of a house and have been local in case anything came up but i'm now moving out of state and I was going to take the linux box the controller lives on.

I'm leaving the ER-X and an AP since it's attached to the ceiling.

My old roommate is NOT tech savvy and doesn't want to have to do any configuration or troubleshooting.

Will anything break if the AP doesn't have a local controller anymore? No configuration changes are anticipated.

Is it easy (and how do I.. didn't see anything on forums) to move to a hosted solution? I have a VPS that I can move it to if needed, I'm just not sure how.

Thanks!

In late October, I had the valve cover gasket replaced on my 2008 Escape XLT, and ever since then it's been pretty sluggish. It used to accelerate just fine even though it has 241,000 miles on it, but now I struggle to keep it at 75mph (highway speeds where I am.) It felt like it was taking forever to shift into the higher gears. Everything was fine at lower speeds. It went into "limp mode" one day and a different shop looked at it. They said they couldn't say that the gasket cover wasn't replaced, but there was no evidence that it was. Also, I was now out of oil. Original shop said "hogwash! it was replaced. OEM was a black seal, new one is blue. Oh and you have a leak in the rear main sea

the Golden Guy Alley I think? Tiny bars? Omg

My favorite thing on the playa in years! But I did not have a camera with me so I’m hoping someone else may have captured its essence.

A few questions about my upcoming install.

  • Where do they like to put the equipment? I live in north Texas, and was unsure about putting anything in the garage because it gets kind of hot out there.

  • What actually gets installed? Like FIOS, an ONT and battery backup? Can I then put the gateway elsewhere? Is the gateway attached to the ONT via ethernet or fiber?

  • I have a Ubiquiti Edgerouter X. (NOT a USG.) I have this excellent guide here and was wondering if anyone here has tried this. If so, was it with a Pace or Arris gateway?

  • What gateway have they been giving you?

  • Does the Pace gatew
