The problem with this dictator

📢 Discussion 📢

isn't that he looks like Pooh Bear. It's that he's a dictator who only uses his subjects to remain in power. When they ask for mercy, he represses them.

When he resigns, or more likely dies of old age in his soft bed, they will replace him with someone who does not look like Pooh Bear, and I will bet will be just as bad. So let's make our criticisms relevant to the party, not to the superficial appearance of one man in that party.

Thank you for your attention.

After some exchanges on this sub I came to learn about a hypothesized event known as abiogenesis and the work of Stanley Miller in the '50s in synthesizing amino acids. The title of this post is from this book.

My thesis is:

  1. "The origin of life is one of the unsolved mysteries of science." This is well known and readily acknowledged by the vast majority of evolutionary biologists.

  2. Abiogenesis is a hypothesized event, not a matter of historical fact. The purpose that scientists have for trying to recreate the event in a lab is to demonstrate its plausibility. The extent to which they succeed is perfectly pro

2005 Suzuki Aerio General question from a humble shadetree: This Aerio has ABS w/ rear drums. Chasing a spongy brake pedal:

  • Replaced wheel cylinders and rebuilt the original calipers.
  • Bled all wheels, no sign of bubbles.
  • No leaks, no loss of fluid.
  • Then I notice the rears will lock up on a hard stop, so as a test I pinched off front-right hose. Somewhat improved pedal feel!
  • I observe that wheel bearing has a tiny amount of play AND the caliper bolts are slightly loose.

Did this cause my problem? After fixing this brake, the pedal is still not great but is strong enough to engage ABS on dry pavement again.
