Just finished the game for the 4th time and the whistle on the docks at the end just absolutely broke me again. Each time I play through this game the story becomes more poignant, more personal and more heartbreaking. As I get older the themes really resonate harder too.

That scene though. It kills me each time. Off to get 100% in X-2 now to fix things

Are my wife and I the only ones? I'll front this with the Emila Cooke being unusually poor in her scene with Rhaenrya but otherwise I thought scene after scene was excellent.

Dragonseeds showing their heritage, corlys seeing the fruits of his inaction, a gas romp of a lord out of water, furthering the prophecy of ice and fire, Helena being forced to choose her path (Dragonriders don't get to sit it out), Rhaenrya actually being authorative for once, Amoend actually being unhinged and not just a good ruler...I could continue. It's a slow burn. It's a cold war allegory. Once it detonates it's all over. What's the issue?

Republic or Death won't fire after completing populating the Americas journal entry. I knew this was the case on previous patches with other achievements but it hasn't been fixed.

Luckily I made a save just before hand but it's going to be a lot of hours to do it again as Paraguay.

I checked after forming Rio de Plata and the achievement was still available. At some point between formation and getting the necessary pop it must have changed.

I've seen a fair questions lately asking how to make protectorates peacefully in 1.5. now that the option to ask to become protectorate/subject is gone.

Depending on power size difference, market and GDP difference, and Army size there's some nuance here but roughly here's how it goes.

First step is getting the country into your customs union. Improve relations (up to 50), bankrolling (up to 80, which is max) and flooding their market with your goods (even if unprofitable) to get a quick trade agreement is the easiest way to do this. My ally Sardina Piedmont just won a leadership war against Modena, they took two states in the peace deal too. On the next tick, just to the increase in radicals from the conquest, Sardinia is completely annexed by Modena.

Any mods out there to fix it?

Anyone else finding max radicalism doesn't actually matter anymore? I've had revolutions go off even if it's around 70. I assumed, and the tooltip says this, it was the same as before 1.3 and the revolution would top out at the radicalism total.

Even with all the events going my way to slow it down the revolutions still fire literally saying max 80 next tick +23% at 78 for example.

Seems like a bug? Not addressed in the forum post

Can anyone explain to me why this seems to be a factor in sentencing by the Irish judiciary? Non custodial sentences seem to be commonplace for heinous crimes committed by repeat offenders and this is often cited (by punters, not in official statements) as a reason why?

Is it just regurgitated nonsense or is there some element of truth to it? And if there is, does anyone know why that would be a factor? Surely that's up to the prison system not the judge, just like arresting people is for na gardaí and prosecuting for the DPP etc.
