I know this is a long shot....

I'm currently in Help Desk (early career), but would love to find my way into CreativeOps.

After some research, I learned that I can help creative teams improve workflows and processes. This is something I would love to do for creatives! In a previous career, I worked in the Arts in various creative and technical capacities and I deeply enjoyed it.

I plan on going back to school for a Bachelors in MIS (management Information Systems).

Is there any way for me back? Any learning resources I should consider? Since i'm early career, I can still pivot.

Hello all, Thanks in advance.

I am in a L1 Help Desk role at a . I want to move into GRC. I am not interested in a super technical role, but I've enjoyed the high-level understanding and fundamentals my courses have provided. I like learning about the technology and how it works, but I'm not interested in being a Pen Tester or Sys Admin.
I'm more so into policy and making sure Companies are following the rules lol

Certs so far: A+
Education so far: half of an A.S. in cybersecurity (not complete)
Experience so far: Linux Sys Admin apprenticeship

I am strongly considering transferring to UMGC for their Cybersecurity Management & Policy Undergraduate degree. Maybe completing an und

I have some college, my A+, and actual IT experience (volunteer and apprenticeship) on my resume. I was hired by a company 1 month ago. The role is glorified call center. I looked over the job description and it read as a IT Help Desk role for a Windows Enterprise environment. It states I would be troubleshooting software issues in a Windows environment. I am not even doing that. I work with a few AWS based apps and mostly transfer people to where they need to go. Im using Salesforce to look up accounts, for God sakes. I feel incredibly duped as I was hired for this contract and do not know if or when I can work other contracts with this company. They didnt even ask me about my A+ or IT expe

I want to use VMware, Active Directory, Windows 11 client machines. I'm taking these project ideas form East Charmer if thats useful info.

Is this a good pc to start with?
Other than checking the specs there, anything I should look out for?

Thanks, yall!

Help Desk to IT PM?

Getting into PM

Hello Everyone,

I am NOT asking for a step-by-step guide, but for:

  • recommendations of quality learning resources
  • insightful questions I should ask myself
  • anything I should be thinking about

A little bit about me:
33, formally a musician, embarking on a new career in IT. Currently working help desk. I have great people skills and want to maximize on my soft skills. I value technical skills, but Im not interested in ANY engineering level role down the line. I did an apprenticeship for a Linux Sys admin role and I was bored out of my mind (Linux is cool though). I truly believe capitalizing on my soft skills is best for me. I am extroverted and would like a job that requires ppl int

Where I am staying, my oven does not work and needs to be replaced. I figured getting an electric pressure cooker will allow me to continue eating quality meals.

Never owned one before. Didn't grow up with one.

Any youtube channels you recommend?
Any brands and size recommendations for a single person who wants to meal prep?

I'm not a big cook, but I am a foodie who loves all types of cuisine, especially South American and South Asian/East Asian. Also getting into West African cuisine. Any resources?

Im mostly eating vegan at home. Any tips I need to be aware of for veggies? From what I've read, keeping them on the crunchier side is not really an option with this device.

First Help Desk role, 2nd WFH job.

All I know (so far) is that they will issue me a computer to use. What would you recommend I get in terms of little tools/accessories/hacks to make it easier?

I have an electric standing desk, window view, wired & bluetooth headphones, phone stand, journal & pens, wrist rest jelly thingy

I'm thinking of getting: a nice mouse, exercise ball chair so I can fidget a bit....anything I'm not considering?

I am fostering two plants while friends live outside the state for a while.
They weren't too confident about what they were, but have clearly kept them alive for some years. Can you help me identify them so I can give them the care they need?

They both have some reddish hues to their newest growth, very interesting to me!

Thank you to those that have been sending me in the right direction so far. Unfortunately, I've hit a wall.

I want a watch built by a modder, and I want the dial, crown, and rotor engraved. Unfortunately, nobody seems to do both.

I have been informed that the crown needs to be fitted to the case, or that gemset dials can be difficult to get or an egraver here or there won't engrave said dials.

Any suggestions on how you would get this done? Me DIYing this build is not an option.
