I recently bought a basic miter saw (Metabo KGS 216 M) for small projects around the house. As far as I can tell, the saw is well adjusted - the blade looks square and the angle stops seem accurate.
Right now I’m cutting skirting boards, and I’ve noticed that some of my 45° cuts don’t form a clean 90° corner when installed against the floor. Instead, the corner ends up slightly off.
I’ve attached photos showing one example and what I expected the corner to look like.
Is there something obvious I might be missing when cutting skirting boards? What are the first things I should check on the saw or in my setup?

Hello! I've always been dreaming of woodworking, and finally decided to get some tools and grease my elbows. I decided to get started with a furniture renewal project before I build things from scratch, to get some experience working with tools, stains, etc.
I got a nice old wooden table with a lot of damage and stains to sand and re-stain, and I'm just curious for a more experienced set of eyes to tell me if sanding is going well, or if I'm doing something wrong. I may be getting ahead of myself and just need more patience, and that would be good to confirm as well :)
The picture is the state of the tabletop after about 10 full passes with 80 grit. Does it seem to be a reasonable progre

I have a pair of speakers (Sony SS-RG475S, see specs here) without their receiver. I'm looking into a budget receiver (Probably Fosi BT10A/BT20A, unless I find some second hand candidate).
I'm not really sure how to know which model to buy. Each speaker is 6 Ohm, and the specs say something about 100+100 or 120+120 (Watts, I guess). The original receiver, when I still had it, was labeled 190W.
I found some power calculators o
Hi,
I've been using an Iris rev. 4 for almost a year now. Recently I tried gluing on magnets to the acrylic cases backs for more convenient travel and ever since, my left side PCB doesn't respond.
When I plug the keyboard to the PC via the left PCB, it is registered in the Windows device manager, but it both sides don't respond (nothing happens when I type).
When I plug it via the right PCB, typing on the right side does work, but typing on the left doesn't.
The left PCB doesn't look to have been damaged:
Hi, I'm trying to add Home Row Mods to my Iris rev 4 and I've run into some issues.
Adding my code changes to add home row mods:

I made a new layout (see here: my qmk_firmware fork) for my Iris, compiled it in WSL and flashed with QMK Toolbox several times, for several iterations of the layout.
At some point, flashing stopped making any difference. I see the regular success logs in the Toolbox (see below), but the previously flashed layout remains operative.
I also tried flashing the default 'via' Iris layout for comparison, but I'm still stuck with an older iteration of my custom layout.
