I have $20k to invest for each of my two teens, one is nearly 18 and the other nearly 16.

The intention is for this money to support bigger life milestones rather than everyday spending. Things like a first home deposit, tertiary study, maybe OE/travel. I am less keen for it to go toward a vehicle unless it genuinely makes sense.

The 18 year old has not yet decided what they are doing in 2026 and will likely work full time initially, so the funds could be accessed within the year or two. The 16 year old has longer before needing access.

I am trying to work out the most sensible way to invest this, given the different timelines and the need for flexibility if plans change.

Hey all, just testing the waters to see if there’s interest in a done-for-you ecommerce setup using Squarespace and Printful.

I’d build you a clean, modern online store that’s fully integrated with Printful, so you can focus on creating or curating products without dealing with shipping, inventory, or tech headaches.

I run my own ecommerce store focused on design-led original art and apparel, and I'm really happy with how it’s performing. After refining it over time, I’ve worked out what actually converts and what’s a waste of time. You’d be getting a setup that’s ready to sell, without the usual teething issues.

The same system works across niches—wellness, music merch, digital art, meme

I’ve already built this for myself with a focus on design-led original art and apparel. It runs smoothly now, and after refining it over time, I’ve figured out what works and what doesn’t. So you'd be getting a solid ecommerce setup that’s ready to sell without the usual teething issues. The same system can be easily adapted to other niches like wellnes

I’ve been running a small ecommerce site for a while now, and I’m proud of what I’ve built. The design and products feel solid, the UX is clean, and the brand looks and behaves the way I intended. I’m trying to carve out a niche in the oversaturated apparel and art space, but I’ve started to wonder if part of the challenge is that people tend to buy art and clothing from brands they feel a personal connection with. That’s probably something I’m lacking at the moment, but it’s something I’m working on.

Traffic is steady. People browse, a few add to cart, but no actual purchases in the last month. It’s frustrating, because it feels close—just not quite clicking. I guess the uncertainty around

Ok bare with me, it's difficult to fully explain this without showing context (i.e. my logo vs theirs). Which would be breaking rule 5. But I'll give it a go.

I received a trademark infringement letter from a U.S. law firm on behalf of a company. The letter states:

And further:

My logo (a round icon with 'JT' letter shapes creating a subtle smiley face) is "similar" to their 'T' face pin-marker shaped icon. Also both are blue, different shades, but blue.

I had never heard of this company before, nor had I seen their logo.

I'll preface this by saying that this is my "side business", I work full-time at a different company to the one that was emailed this trademark infringement lett

My business has evolved over the years—originally selling design templates, and now primarily focusing on art and apparel. Their company sells "industry-leading advertising and des

Can anyone recommend a flooring specialist that does both wooden and concrete options. Or maybe it’ll need to be two different companies, if that’s not an option.

Our wooden floor boards have buckled and lifted in this humidity. It happened quite quick in our dinning room and kitchen (it’s all open plan and connected). They lifted so much that we couldn’t open our freezer so I had to pull a few sheets out. It’s hard to tell 100% if they’re engendered or solid, but think they’re solid. And now it’s happening in our lounge room…. Awesome!

So our TV bought in Oct 2020 (circa $3k) crapped out the other day, apparently due to a hardware issue. I’m going to talk to the retailer about fixing it under the NZ CGA. Wish me luck, and I’d appreciate any tips or advice.

But I was thinking, how long should a fairly modern TV last? 1 year per $1k spent, 5 years…. 10? Our last TV lasted well over 10 years.

Just saw a dude on TV hold up his small, ring and middle fingers - essentially making the OK sign 👌🏽 - to indicate that a team was in third place. Weird…

So I asked my wife her preferred technique, and to my surprise she uses her thumb, index and middle fingers. (I’m purely talking about hand signing the number 3 guys… get outa it)

Personally, I’m a fan of the reverse three-finger Scout salute. Index, middle and ring finger. A true kiwi classic.

Apparently he’s 5’8 ish. I’ve always assumed that he was well over 6 foot, not sure why? Can anyone confirm for my own sanity (yes, I know it’s very strange my sanity is linked to Jeremy Wells height. Don’t judge)
