Dragons?

Discussion

How are we scaling dragons this season? I’m sure there’s a way to do it, but I’m coming up on 6k for the season and have yet to see a decent dragon build.

Half of the tribe this season relies on tavern spells during combat, but outside of the t5 naga there’s no real reliable spell scaling this season. Generating battlecry dragons doesn’t seem to scale your board consistently and it’s hard to generate enough to reliably scale spells.

What’s the strategy? Are they just a bad tribe this season or am I missing something with them?

Okay, I’ll probably get hit with half a dozen “read the kit” replies here, but I genuinely cannot figure this one out.

Occasionally, if I’m hitting into apoc, Rulk, rogue, MLF, and doom with apoc, Rulk, rogue, MLF and kang, the enemy MLF with take a turn before my MLF, and then the entire enemy team will go.

What typically happens is I hit enemy MLF with Rulk basic as an opener. From there, my MLF should be going first right? Kang grants speed and the enemy team has one more mystic character than mine.

But for whatever reason, that’s not the case 100% of the time. Anyone have some insight here?

If you, like me, are someone who tends to core characters to offset scopley’s awful character release methods, just a reminder that we have a core spending event starting Friday.

Knowing Scopley’s track record with these things, I’d expect that at least one of the three characters currently available to core (most likely Brawn, possibly Abomination, and maybe web weaver) will stop being available for cores when the event starts. If you plan on any further coring, I’d do it in the next few days before you end up out of luck.

Is anyone else having crazy combat issues since the update? I ran a few war attacks and character models weren’t loading in, were getting stuck in attack poses, and were being regrouped all over the battlefield in every single fight. Is this a thing or is my game just glitching out?

So unless this team ends up being death horseman’s team this should be the first post-Apocalypse team (in the sense that we already know BA will be needed for death.)

Very curious to see what Scopley does to make this team “non-skippable.” I have a hard time believing their next original character won’t be crazy important somewhere, but with the current state of the game I’m not sure what they could do to entice people to bail on building horsemen or scourge teams for them.

I’ll preface this by saying that I know Scopley has never cared much about canon, and they seem to care less and less as the game gets older, BUT —

By my count, there are nine (9.5 if you count Lockheed, I guess — 10.5 if you want to throw apocalypse in there even though he’s not in game yet) characters currently in game who have been members of some iteration of Excalibur:

Shadowcat

Colossus

Juggernaut

Psylocke

Dazzler

Longshot

Gambit

Rogue

Jubilee

If Scopley shoehorns Angel/archangel into that team instead of putting him into a team he actually makes sense with just because they need to put him somewhere, I’m going to be so freaking annoyed.

Side note: I’m absolutely preparing

…is that Scopley’s been biting off waaaay more than they can chew this year in trying to push these convoluted events with more moving parts than they can manage.

I know the month-long, multi-milestone releases with built in uncertainty probably drives sales, but maybe it’s time to shift focus back to one-step character releases? Because, man, Scopley is terrible at this.

I know the event hasn’t even been live for 24 hours, and bitching about it already seems like beating a dead horse, but I think it’s worth considering why the Agatha event is so particularly shitty.

IMO, it goes back to one thing: MLF and the horsemen. Scopley clearly signaled that they wanted MLF to be easier to unlock than previous legendaries, going so far as to create a whole new event type. Presumably the idea is to get more players hooked into the Apocalypse path instead of locking players out with the very first horseman.

So the question, then, is how do you gate the next big meta team when half the playerbase already has the legendary?

Clearly, the agatha event is the answer. T
