Adam Robinson has made some tweets about how he likes to simplify his market trending metrics down to just a few important ones.

He currently tracks LQD (a corporate bond ETF) and IEF (7-10 year treasury bonds).

"A bond trader who’s bullish on the economy will buy corporate bonds and sell treasuries as a hedge (just in case the interest rates rise – causing the bonds to go down in value)"

"So just take a ratio of LQD/IEF – this will tell you what bond traders think of the economy. When they disagree seriously with equity/stock traders, the bond traders are right, and early."

"Want to understand our economy's health? Forget employment, trade wars, consumer confidence, yield curves, or pri

So, my common order is a "whiskey soda", which is whiskey + seltzer water.

However, at bars, especially loud ones, I end up with whiskey + coke/pepsi at least 10% of the time.

Any better orders to avoid this? Ways to phrase that same order? Different drinks that also might work well? (No, I don't want a vodka soda).

Hi all,

I've fought depression for a very long time, and while I sort of know what I need to be doing, I just find myself in total freeze-up mode whenever I get to the point of action.

Background: Was at the top of my class in school, but fought depression in college and didn't study, ended up with a bad GPA, and had trouble getting a job.

I'm in my late 30's now, and while i've been reasonably successful by most people's standards, I feel like I'm operating at 10% of my potential, hate my job, and just feel like a worthless middle manager.

I'm single, live like a bachelor, and really struggling to grow up and make a decision here.

I used to not be so anxious, but over the last 5 years

Hi guys,

I've been dealing with depression for a long time and really am near rock bottom right now and need to see someone for help.

Can anyone recommend a psychologist in the northern virginia area that you worked well with? This is obviously a personal thing but I can at least try to work from a list to narrow it down.

Hi all,

I use a mix of sunscreens based on my need:

  1. Daily use for my face: Bioderma photoderm for high UVA protection / easy application ($3/oz or so, but it's my splurge for my face)
  2. For outdoor activities: I've been using just some cheap banana boat brand sunscreen with titanium dioxide/zinc oxde because it's cheap and has good protection, but it's a real pain to blend into arms and legs (less than $1/oz - I think $6 for 8oz)

For option #2 - what brands with non-physical blockers would you recommend that are cheap and have no endocrine disruptors? (or one with physical blockers that is easier to apply/soak in)

I'm only 5'9 and wear 30" inseam pants, which means jammer shorts with a 9" inseam go almost completely to my knee. I can probably get away with them, but would love a pair that is around an inch shorter or so just for more comfort.

I bought the TYR endurance ones. Also if any have a little more room up front it might be nice - they feel pretty uncomfortable and I feel like I have nowhere to ehm... put my stuff.

Hi all,

The last time I was researching high UVA protection / PPD sunscreens was 2 years ago.

I'm looking for something that meets the following criteria:

  • No extreme white casts like physical blockers (zinc/titanium)
  • Minimal to no fragrance
  • Looking to keep costs down

Last time I went with the Bioderma Photo Max 50 - $42 for 400ml, which is around $3/oz or 10cents/ml.

Any better options now? This is already ~ 3x the cost of typical sunscreens in the USA, so I don't want to go any higher.
