There are major misconceptions about our economic and monetary system -- misconceptions that benefit the 1%. Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) shows the way forward. Let's move past deficit fearmongering:
- The government is not the same as a household.
- The government doesn't need to run a deficit.
- The government can employ all the unemployed.
An economic system that doesn't work for 99% of the people is a system that should be changed. Of course, we can't expect anything positive from government when the entire system is corrupt. That's why change must come first. Educate yourself!
