The last time I toured through Europe I remember seeing a few venues or rental houses that provided 5' steel with a hook on one end to remove a loose pin from the high steel work.
Any idea why these aren't more common in the United States? I feel like a 5' baskets works 90% of the time on tour so being able to not have to mess with a working shackle seems like a big win. I'm not an up rigger so maybe there is something I don't see that makes them suck. Other than being like 5 X the cost of a traditional set up. Also I
My wife and I are scheduled to land at MXP at 11:30 AM and we will continue on by train to Florence. Looking at options, I see getting from MXP to Milan Central is easy and runs about every thirty minutes. There seem to be a few trains that run from Milan Central to Florence, leaving every 15 to 20 minutes. Am I crazy to not buy a ticket ahead of time? We are landing Saturday, October 11th, and I am concerned if the flight is late to arrive or if there is an issue with customs or baggage, we may miss our train. Less likely but equally annoying would be buying a ticket for a later train and being ready sooner.
I just want to make sure I'm not crazy for planning to buy our tickets when we ge
I am working on an Excel book to track changes on rental orders. Data is provided in a csv file. I can get that into excel and cleaned up with a data query easily enough. The order will have multiple changes in its life, each version will be its own csv file. The data set is at max 12 columns by 350 rows. Row count and products will change over the life of the order. IE sometimes something will get added in V2 quantity changed in V3 and removed in V4.
What is the best way to add each csv to the order as a new page in the workbook while keeping all the query filters to clean up the data? This would be done few days so not critical to worry about the number of clicks or time adding new files
I've been spending some time building a plug-in for Vectorworks to make drawing truck packs easier and more uniform. Before I would make a symbol for each size case and then spend some time arranging text that was linked to records to be able to easily modify the text each time I duplicated the case symbol. Road Case Creator improves that process by quickly creating 2D road cases and handling the placement and location of text boxes.
I was in one of the first classes of this program in 2007. Back then I think it paid $12 an hour. I had a friend I could stay with rent free, not sure what the other out of towners did for housing. I was in Vegas doing a lighting rotation. There was a lot of 'neck down' work but as interns we were able to attend training and product demos when they were hosted in the shop. Some departments had more learning opportunities than other. Cable was not great but working on the VL5-VL6s was really neat, they people that were keeping them alive were great teachers and had lots of cool stories. Helping do tour prep was hit or miss,
Tonight was the third time using my Karu 12 with a gas adapter and I have noticed the top of the front door area gets very black and sooty. The first two times I figured I was just burning off manufacturing oil but I thought propane would burn cleaner by now.
I leave the front door off the whole time and the chimney is removed with the hole plugged per the instructions.
Should I expect it to be jet black after every use or is there some adjustment on the burner that is not in the manual?
I'll be in Chania in late September and would like to visit the Knossos Palace. I prefer not to drive when traveling and I am interested in how easy the bus system is to navigate on Crete. I've been on e-Ktel.com and have been struggling to get a straight answer. Is it possible to book the trip with one company or will I have to get the Heraklion > Knossos ticket from a 2nd company?
If anyone has had a good or bad experience booking travel on KTEA let me know, I may have to rethink my stance on driving abroad...
A friend and I have started playing pickleball recently, starting with singles against each other and now moving onto open doubles. Being new to the sport we are having a hard time learning the official rules VS people's 'house' rules. I've read the official rules a few times but don't want to be that guy pulling out his phone during a rec match.
We played one game were anytime the ball touched the net it was a dead ball. Another team we played with said if the ball went over the net even after contact it was a live ball. After rereading the rules it seems the secound situation was correct - touching the net does not cause a dead ball.
When the pandemic hit I picked up some controls tech work for Amazon. I’ve been thinking about taking some classes about data analytics and was thinking about how it could be used in controls work.
Has anyone used software that aids in fault finding and troubleshooting on the plant level? For example, say you had 6 machines across that plant that were acting up. This software would look and see what commonalities they shared, are they on the same transformer, breaker, air supply, network, profibus spur, switch/cabinet and so on. Like if all six machines were on the same switch it could be wise to start looking at network related things.
Perhaps the software would also be able to look th
I’m 35 and am looking to switch industries. For the last twelve years I have worked in the live even industry typically in concert touring but also a some trade shows and one-off events mixed in. For the last five years I was the automation crew chief. I reported to the show designer, production manager, and stage manager. My team would have up to five direct reports that traveled with the tour and in each city, we would bring on 12 locals for our department to be the muscle for load in and load out. Quick thinking in high stress situations was a daily occurrence. When doing performing flying in stadiums some choices are literally life or death.
I've got a project where I am monitoring the voltage on two pins and reporting it to another controller via modbus. I've tweaked an example to meet my needs and it is working pretty well. I did have to modify one of the libraries to leave the connection open after each message to work with the master. The arduino is being powered by a 7v wallwart and all grounds are tied together.
There are two annoying issues, the connection will drop out periodically, and sometimes the connection will go offline completely. Sometimes the connection will drop after 20 minutes and other times it will be two hours. When the connection drops I get a read error on the master and it will reconnect almost insta
I am new to Inkscape but have a strong background in Vectorworks cad program, which I get is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison but that might be why I'm having such an issue....
I am trying to come up with a better work flow for making a large quantity of stickers to label cables. I have watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dG7IDvkrmVw and I am hopeful I can improve on the current process which relies on a lot of duplicate data entry. My current issue is I can't figure out how to force a text box to be a certain size. I want to have a sticker 1" high by 3" wide with a text box centered on it that will not be any bigger th
