Just bought a M91/38 short rifle in 6.5. Shot 20 rounds of PPU in it, and noticed the bolt required a decent amount of momentum to get it fully up at the last bit of travel. Empty, no issue, but with fired brass....gotta open the bolt with a bit more vigor.

I polished the cam in the bolt where the cocking piece travels and the matching cam on the cocking piece, the locking lugs, cleaned the area where the locking lugs lock (bit rough in there but chambers and locks everything quite fine). In taking a piece of brash and chambering it with only the bolt body (no cocking piece or spring) it still has problems with the last bit of travel during primary extraction.

I'm thinking it's the chamber

Interview Coming up, what docs again?

License / Permit Question

I know, 'everything you uploaded'...I can't recall it all and the lists I'm finding have stuff they didn't ask of me.

Can ya'll just give me a quick list? I know the important ones but.

My friend got a new Mete SF and we took it to the range the other day. While mostly good, she would have what seemed to be light stikes....but were *no strikes* and upon inspection of her firing was all due to some failure to return to battery malfs.

It seems that this can be a thing.....but in my research there are a lot of suggested fixes (recoil spring too heavy so lock it back for a week, striker/firing pin spring too heavy get reduced weight, too light recoil spring, polish feed ramp, shoot 124gr nato for first few hundred round, etc). Sprinco comes up a lot as well.

She's currently has gun locked back to see how that works, but whats the next thing I should do: find lighter str

Last time this year I had just came back home (not NYC area) from LA trip, planning on living out there/trying to break in as a writer. By late last year I came to decision that NYC area was probably better bet (closer, family in area, etc.).

How is 2026 panning out in the area? LA on the down-slide, but NYC seems to be doing pretty decent all things considered.

Bit of a niche question I've got for you all: did Howard Zimmerman ever say "Deutschland ist wieder was!" during the 1954 FIFA final game when West Germany won. Now, I know he said "AUS! AUS! AUS! Deutschland ist weltmeister!" along with an earlier "TOR! TOR! TOR!", but there are sources saying what translates to "Germany is something again!" along with/instead of "German is the world champion!".

Now, why do I ask this? I'm a film buff, love Fassbinder, and the end of The Marriage of Maria Braun has the 54 FIFA game playing on the radio over it. On the 54 FIFA wiki page in english it says that "is something again" is heard vs "weltmeister" line. If you watch the end, it's "weltmeister

Looking at the Konza Guns Sport-R A1 Retro, wondering on the quality of these and if anyone has any experience with them?

I see only a few posts relating to Konza and Karri's Guns and receptions seems a bit mixed

Looking to get a good set of plates and carrier. Lots of options and the such, so figured I'd ask what ya'll use. Probably looking at XL (6'2, 240lbs) but I'd have to measure myself first.

I got a chicom rig, so if the carrier is minimalist thats ok, can just put that over it.

More than likely gonna be relocating to the NYC/NJ area and wanted to see what ya'll think about the networking scene here as opposed to LA (original destination, but it ain't doing so hot for how far a move it'd be for me). I'm making my connections and want to get into PAing again, and also film (was recommended Mono No Aware by peer).

What's the scene like currently? Obviously NYC is a great artist city, but I've heard that groups can be a bit insulated here (writers hang with writers, directors with directors, etc.). Any good discords or groups to be aware of?

Also...I love seeing classics on the big screen, what are ya'll recommendations for theaters that play anything and everything

Non-Resident Training, New England

License / Permit Question

So I am going to embark on the journey of getting my Non-Resident NYC CCW, but a small issue has presented itself: where do I do the 18 hour course if I'm up in New England (not in CT)? I'd be willing to go to NY to do it...but I can't physically touch a handgun in the state as it's a felony iirc.

Is my best chance going to CT? Or does anyone know of any places in VT/NH/MA/ME that does the required training course? It'd be nice not to have to travel all the way to southern CT (CT allows brining handguns into state to do training iirc) in order to satisfy this requirement.

Also quick aside about changing one's address during application processing/after you physically get the license: what

I might be relocating to NJ at some point and have been researching the CCW process down there. At first it seemed like I could apply for Non-Res permit (good for when visiting/if I don't move) and then when I move to NJ I can change my address no problem and apply for FID.

However, in talking to different training facilities/trainers, it seems that there is no clear consensus on what would be better/doable/cheaper.

I've heard that it's as described above or:

> It's not worth it to get non-res then switch it to Res if I would be moving soon, as switching all my info from NJSP to my local police would be paying fees all over again and a pain

> I can do it but I should get my non res FID

So the original plan was to go to LA this year. But the universe is saying 'no' apparently. From articles like this, staffing agencies telling me they aren't getting companies paying them to post the level of jobs I'm qualified for (dayjobs, not industry related), general US economy on fire, and a few people saying 'thank god' me and my spouse are postponing (including someone who was in LA who knows a lot of industry people that are 'FLEEING' apparently), it seems like LA will be off the table.

I wanted to see how things were in 6 months (still do) but a backup plan has
