As the title suggests, I'm trying to decide between Booth or Anderson. Considering my fellowship at Anderson and additional cost of Booth, I'd likely have to take on an extra $100 K in debt at Booth. I should note that I'm currently on the waitlist at Booth (meaning I'd have to miss out on pre-MBA programming like Random Walk and Startup Summer), and I've already accepted my offer from Anderson. I'm trying to make a decision before the R3 deadline (5/16), but it's been challenging so far.
Some background - I work in risk mgmt consulting and am looking to double-pivot into a biz dev, biz ops, or product marketing manager role in the tech industry
Like many pursuing an MBA, I'm looking to change industries (management consulting into tech), and potentially change functions (interested in corporate strategy or product manager roles).
I have no work experience in the tech industry, and no experience in product management. Clearly some of my classmates applying for these positions would have more relevant work experiences than I do. Does my lack of experience put me at a big disadvantage when recruiting at the most competitive tech companies (i.e. FAANG)? Given that most tech companies don't ask for grades during recruiting, I'm worried I won't be able to distinguish myself against classmates with more relevant work experience.
I've completed interviews at 3 of the 5 schools I applied to in R2, with 1 more coming up next weekend and another that I haven't yet received an invite for. There's still 5 - 6 weeks until decisions are released for R2, and I feel like I could be doing something to increase my chances. I've registered for a few online chats that each of the schools host, and am trying to keep in contact with the current students I interacted with on campus. Any tips for how we can use the gap between interviewing and decision day to demonstrate interest or increase odds of acceptance? Thanks!
Does anyone know roughly what % of students at M-7 schools receive merit-based aid? Or what that number looks like at top 15 schools? Trying to rank the schools I've applied to in terms of preference and scholarship considerations
Tomorrow I'll be making my first ever trip to Anfield, having flown into London last night from Chicago. Despite the weather, I'm still very excited to watch the Reds live in person for the first time. Does anyone have game day tips, must see sites in Liverpool, etc? I want to make the most out of tomorrow.
Also, shout out to everyone that makes r/liverpoolfc one of my favorite places on the internet!
