Hi, this is for my friend who I helped going through the process.
She received portal invitation today.
Signed up using the temp password. Changed the password. Signed back in with the new password.
On the portal there were two tabs: PR Application (for new applications) and PR Confirmation. The PR Confirmation tab had her current approved application. I selected that one, it went to a page to add address and picture.
Address was added (she is in Canada).
Picture was uploaded, however it gave too many warnings. She decided to go take a new picture and come back. We left the browser session open but closed the laptop.
Few hours later, we open the browser again. The session is not timed
EDIT: Thanks to DuduKnocker I can confirm the restaurant is, in fact, this one: https://juanalaloca.es/en/
So for a work trip in 2018, I came to Madrid. We had to work around the clock so I didn't get the chance to explore the city beyond the restaurants.
On the last night we were there, I had the best meal of my life at a restaurant...that I unfortunately don't remember its name or location. I do have a few hints:
- Location should be a 20min drive from Caja Magica.
- The restaurant had a black door, and had its name written on an eggshell wall next to the door. The name very likely has "juan" in it.
- Entrance to
Today I filed my taxes and despite spending 10months in the US, working on a TN visa, the accountant told me I have to pay $70K CAD in taxes owing. I am not eligible to collect EI, CERB or anything, even though I did lose my job.
Between US and Canada I have paid over $180K CAD in taxes. I made $220K USD gross last year.
I have two questions:
- Where does this money go? None of my healthcare needs are addressed in time, and it's impossible to find private care too. The reason I lost my job was because of my adult ADHD, I've been on a wait list to get official diagnosis for 13 months now. I have severe myopia so vision is my main healthcare need, but I pay for that independently too. Housi
Hi,
I moved here in January. While I like NYC and it's truly a great city, I think for my mental health and personal reasons, it's best for me to go back.
I have a full-time job here, making relatively okay money, but have no friends really and it's taking a massive toll on me. Back home I did have some resemblance of a social circle, albeit small and unsatisfactory.
I signed a lease for the place I am in. It's for a year. I also need to stay in the job for that long too, otherwise need to payback my signing bonus.
- If I furnish my place, can I get rid of the stuff when I move back? How common is that? Currently I look at OfferUp to buy things but the options are very limited.
- Once
Hi, I am new to NYC. I am in the final stages of signing a lease in a rent controlled building.
However I am confused about the rules here. Due to COVID-19, the rent has decreased by 60% since the last tenant moved out. Let's say around $5K.
I negotiated just below $3K (with some free months but that's irrelevant). This is the preferential rate.
Let's say my lease is up...and it's time to renew. Simple question: would it be renewed on the $3K or the $5K one? How can I make sure of which one it is?
Also what is the maximum increase?
I am asking because I can also sign a two year lease and lock in the better rent until then. Which works great for me because I'm not sure if I'd like NYC th
