Hi everybody. I’m from Arlington and I have a family member from Hyattsville who, sadly, needs to talk to me about matters relating to end of life care. He’s fully able to get around and enjoy great food, so I want to take him somewhere nice in Silver Spring during lunch hours on a weekend. However, he doesn’t want it to be too loud or busy, so we can have some privacy while we discuss these important matters. Any recommendations? I appreciate it.

What are some high-quality resources I can share to educate my mother on the fact that 2 year olds can’t regulate emotions well?
Context: My mother visits once a year. She’s here for two months and my 2.25 year old has warmed up to her, but doesn’t fully embrace her. My mom has chosen to be offended by this (“offended” is her word choice). My daughter has normal toddler meltdowns, pretty infrequent in fact, but whenever she does, my mom gasps and shakes her head throughout. Tonight she looked at me during one and said, “Your child is strange.” She has also called my daughter unusual and weird.
My toddler is… a toddler, folks. She’s pretty normal based on everything I’ve read on this sub.
Please enjoy my “first world problems” question… what’s your experience with eating steak on Wegovy? I don’t eat red meat very often and will be going to a steakhouse this weekend. I’m curious if other folks have enjoyed steak in Wegovy-style moderation or if even a few bites leave you nauseous. I’m eyeing a bone-in ribeye…
EDIT: I had 4oz of filet mignon and felt totally fine the following day. Thanks everyone for your advice!
Or both? I’m curious what others do.
My 7 mo has basically been sick for 2 months straight, and we finally caved (both financially and morally) to hire a sitter to watch her while she’s sick.
We were completely transparent about her illness and got her tested for COVID. I still feed bad even though the sitter was willing to do the job (I posted a job on Urban Sitter asking for sick care and 3 people responded). However, I can’t keep taking off work - it’s making me nervous.
So, what’s your routine when they’re too sick to be in daycare?
NIH research shows talking can spread COVID-19. Normally invisible saliva droplets can linger in the air, visualized by researchers using laser technology. Wear a mask, folks!
