A month or two ago, there was some discussion about whether Prime Video would have Troubled Blood available for purchase. I couldn't find the discussion, but wanted anyone interested to know you can buy the whole season now for $9.99. I've purchased every season because they're great to rewatch. Happy Viewing!

A friend brought a delicious cake to an event and shared the recipe. The icing calls for an egg, which surprised me. The recipe is essentially mixing powered sugar, maple syrup, salt, butter, vanilla, and an egg.

Any thoughts on whether this is safe or not? My instinct is to find another recipe, but I’m not much of a baker so thought I’d see what folks here thought.

UPDATE: Thank you all for your input. I decided to find another recipe. Went with this one - it’s good! https://www.thespruceeats.com/fluffy-maple-frosting-4067189

This summer I’m doing bingo for summer reading and I want a prize for adults who finish it. I have no idea how many will finish, so I’d need a prize that isn’t too expensive. I’ve given away nice bookmarks before. I could do that again, but I’d love some new ideas.

Does anyone have the original Chex Muddy Buddies recipe? Or something from the 80s? I’m curious if the current recipe on their website has changed.

I’m in adult services at a public library.

My best active program was a plant exchange. People could bring a plant and take a plant. Was popular enough that I’ll make it a recurring event next year. Maybe quarterly or every other month.

My best passive program was a book recommendation bowl - strips of paper with book recommendations on them.

My best display featured books and movies that take place in our state. People loved the local content.

I’m looking for ideas for next year!

(Minor spoilers for Miss Scarlet and the Duke)

I'm only two episodes in to Season 2 and I'm already desperate for some spicy Victorian romance... please tell me I'm not the only one. This is part Gush/Rave, part Book Request.

I posted about this a couple years ago after Season 1 and got some great recs for mystery-themed books: https://www.reddit.com/r/RomanceBooks/comments/lpgs2b/am_i_the_only_person_looking_for_miss_scarlet_and/

Now I'm looking for something spicy to quench all that sexual chemistry between the two. He looks like he can't decide whether he wants to kiss

I'm doing a cozy mystery for NaNo this year. I found this template online and I really like it in case anyone is interested.

In Act I, one of the prompts is "Introduce Crime Complications." I'm thinking "crime complications" means that something the sleuth believed or a "fact" of the case turns out not to be true. For example, everyone thought the victim left work at 6PM, but it turns out that the victim actually left work at 5PM.

I'm curious how others interpret this prompt though. Any other ideas? Also, if anyone else has mystery outline templates they like, please share.

Back in July everything on the website was basically 50% off (at least what I was buying). Do they do that a lot? I see there’s a 30% off coupon right now, but I’d wait a bit if I could save some more money and could order a few extra things. Anyone know how often those 50% offs come around?

What’s the secret to cooking dry beans without them splitting? No matter what I’ve tried, they split. I’ve read that it happens if you cook them too quickly, so I’ve tried cooking them really slowly but it still happens as soon as soon as it starts to boil. I want the delicious beans that are creamy inside.
