Moin zusammen!

I want to get into hiking (mainly in the alps), at the same time I need a new skiing jacket.

It seems to me as if the requirements for both are pretty similar, so I thought I might be able to get a single jacket for both.

I'm probably looking at a 3L shell that should have additional skiing features (e.g. a big hood to fit the helmet, forearm pocket, snow skirt - preferably detachable).

Do you have any specific suggestions, or other things I might've missed so far / should keep in mind?

Thanks! 😄

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice on daily street/city recipes (Context: I'm visiting London over the weekend).

I’ve been using Osan Bilgi’s Summer Chrome and Classic Cuban Negative lately. Summer Chrome was amazing for a trip to Turkey last summer, but outside of that "summer/vacation" it feels a bit too warm / orange imo. I really liked CCN in Japan last year, though I feel like it works best in high contrast conditions.

I also tried Reggie’s Portra as it's suggested a lot for a more neutral / versatile recipe, but to me it always felt a bit boring and flat (though that might just be my lack of skill).

Does anyone else feel the same about these? And more importantly,

I want to get into hiking and am currently looking for hiking pants.

Do you have recommendations for good pants that are on the baggier side?

Of course they shouldn't be overly baggy and still functional, I don't want to get caught on everything. I just really don't like the look and feel of regular tapered pants.

Thanks! :)

It seems to me as if the requirements for both are pretty similar (correct me if I'm wrong), so I thought I might be able to get a single jacket for both. Bonus points if it's also suitable for day to day use in the city.

I'm probably looking at a hard shell that should have additional skiing features (e.g. a big hood to fit the helmet, forearm pocket, snow skirt - possibly removable?). I'd then probably also need an insolation layer / fleece to go below the shell (I also saw 3in1 jackets with the option to zip those together - this would make day to day use easier I reckon).

Do you have any speci

What would you say is the current SOTA for continuous control settings?

With the latest model-based methods, is SAC still used a lot?

And if so, surely there have been some extensions and/or combinations with other methods (e.g. wrt to exploration, sample efficiency…) since 2018?

What would you suggest are the most important follow up / related papers I should read after SAC?

Thank you!

I'm looking for a book for a good friend of mine. Ideally, it should be a pocket book, and there should be a german translation available, but it's no hard requirement.

He liked both "Prisoners of Geography" and "The Power of Geography" by Tim Marshall.

So I thought about the follow-up "The Future of Geography", though I'm unsure about how relevant it is, it seems a lot more abstract/speculative (but maybe the main strength of the book is to convince me otherwise)?

Some other ideas I had are:

- Material World (Ed Conway)

- Abundance (Ezra Klein)

Both would be really interesting, unfortunately they don't yet have a (german) pocket book.

So if you read any of those, I'd love to hea

Vinyls that come with posters

Removed: Post in Daily Discussion

Hey guys,

I'm looking to extend my vinyl collection, and I still have some blank walls in my new flat, so I thought why not combine those two things :)

Just so you get an idea what I'm looking for, here's a list of poster I've got so far:

  • The New Abnormal comes with a big poster version of the cover artwork, that works great
  • same but smaller for Alvvays
  • Favourite Worst Nightmare came with a nice poster as well

So basically stuff that works as art on its own, not so much pictures of the artists (I was kind of disappointed by the poster from The Slow Rush; that desert location from the cover/the gatefold would've worked great as a poster)

I guess you get the idea. If you have any po

Hi guys,

I recently got a WiiM Amp which I use for spotify streaming an also to connect my TV to my speakers via HDMI ARC.

For the first few weeks everything worked fine, but last week just ARC stopped working in the middle of watching a series.

Spotify streaming still works fine and it seems that the connection to the TV still works (the amp's status LED turns orange and in the app the source switches to HDMI ARC when the TV is on), but there is no sound.

I did already try resetting both TV and amp and also tried a different cable, but to no avail.

Is anybody here experiencing similar issues / do you have any ideas what else to try?

Thanks! :)

Moin,

Danke euch! :)

Hello guys,

I'm looking for a bedframe and found some very affordable options from vidaXL.

Unfortunately the product pictures found on the website all seem to be renders, so it's hard to see how the color actually looks. I'm specifically looking at the color "honey brown". Here is an example of the color I'm talking about.

Does anybody here own any vidaXL bed in this color and can share a picture of what the color actually looks like? That would be really helpful!

Thank you! :)
