We are filling out taxes for a condo rental property and need to put a value for the land. We are in Massachusetts and checked the City assessor database, they put $0 for land value.
I’ve read conflicting information online on whether to put $0 for land value. I’ve read that since it’s a condo we don’t own the land, and the association owns the land, but not certain.
Hoping for clarification.
Thank you
David
I have the Nest Integration with 1 Thermostat and 2 cameras. The Cameras work fine, but the Nest Thermostat in HA is not syncing with the Nest. I can change the temperature with HA and it does change the Temperature on the nest, but the Home Assistant doesn't reflect the new temperature.
In addition, if I change the temperature on the Nest it does not update or sync with HA. It appears the HA is not polling correctly or syncing with Nest.
I have tried factory resetting the Thermostat and redid the integration a few times.
Anything I am missing?
thank you,
David
I have 14 caseta switches in my house that were installed 4 years ago. Working fine up until today. I come home at 8pm and 5 stopped working, with each just blinking the 7 indicator lights repeatedly.
I tried pulling the FASS and tried flipping the breaker. No luck, so not sure if there is anything else to try?
Appreciate the help. David
I'm trying to decide on the Lapel Width for the notch lapel. I measured and on my current suits the distance measured is 6.25-6.5", and I know the rule of thumb says take 1/2 that distance.
Would I be better with 3.1" or 3.5"? Those are my two options.
Going for a tailored fit suit.
Thank you!
I’m getting a suit made and deciding on the fabric. I spent some time looking at wool swatches and not sure how big a difference between the different houses. I know Zegna and Loro Piana are more expensive and supposedly higher quality.
I found a super 130 Lanificio Cerruti - 260g. Trying to decide if it’s worth spending significantly more on a higher end fabric.
Thank you
Purchased the house and tested the flooring in the utility room. The flooring tiles are VAT asbestos tiles as suspected, but the glue is not.
The tiles are for the most part intact, with some missing pieces as can be seen in the picture. From what I have read VAT flooring is less of a concern vs other asbestos products, but want to confirm if that is correct? That said I would feel more comfortable encapsulating them.
What is the best product to use for encapsulating VAT flooring? I have read about perfect primer products, but curious if that is the best or what is recommended? Also, should I bother filling in the broken tile area with something to level it out?
thank you!
I have a terraced backyard and just found what I believe to be termites in a wooden perimeter for landscaping. Luckily this is the top of the terrace, so a bit from the house.
The previous owners installed the wood, likely not pressure treated and hence the termites. They are white crawling inside the wood. I left them in a pile and plan to spray with contact kill solution.
I'm now concerned about my house and want to be proactive. The house is brick with some vinyl siding on 3/4 of the house, not sure that makes a difference. Would it be better to use the bait stations or termidor sc?
Thanks!
I'm looking to reupholster a lounge chair with leather.
Trying to decide between Full Grain leather vs Top Grain. Then aniline vs semi aniline.
What's the best for a lounge chair? Are there any websites you recommend that sell high quality full hides?
For the thickness I was looking at 1-1.2mm - should I go thicker?
Thank you

I had my trim painted a few months back and they messed up a lot of my trim and doors. I'm looking to start over and need some advice to ensure a successful fix.
These are the steps I'm thinking:
- Sand down everything and remove all loose paint.
- Use a high quality primer and let it dry.
- Lightly sand with 220 and then clean all dust
- Apply Benjamin Moore advance, then sand 220 and clean dust.
- Apply second coat of Benjamin Moore advance.
What is a good primer for trim/doors where the paint might be a little loose even after sanding. I read about Benjamin Moore Stix or Zissner peel stop. Does anyone have suggestions on primer or on the steps above? Is 220 grit good for the steps
Purchased the Arc, Sub and Amp. Looking to use either the ceiling or wall speakers for the rears.
My ceiling is pretty low at around 7 1/2 feet. Any suggestions on which will make better rears?
Thanks!
I recently purchased a home and was ready to purchase the Nest battery doorbells and hardwire them. Then recently the Nest Wired 2 got disclosed as coming out in 2022.
Would you wait for the wired 2 vs wiring the new battery model?
