First of all, I'm new to this community so apologies if this isn't allowed/the flair is wrong. I was searching for somewhere to go where I can get some advice from people who will understand my position, and I saw this sub mentioned in r/raisedbynarcissists

TL;DR: cut off bpd sister in January. Was doing relatively ok, all things considered. Sister contacted me yesterday and brought back all of the negative emotions from before. I miss her but I can't be around her anymore, how to cope between now and next therapy session?

Some background, I'm 26F and my younger sister(23) has bpd. Last year my grandfather died and, while she had always been bad before, I think his death kicked her dis

I swear, last week this song wasn't censored during the recording of the cop encounter, but today it was. The empty gaps were very jarring. I have my settings to allow explicit content... Is anyone else experiencing this/know how to turn it off? Will Arabesque be censored too? The fuck

I'm playing Sims 4 right now and it's currently a blizzard outside in the game. It suddenly made me really miss the "look at weather" interaction from the Sims 3. Just a totally innocuous interaction that didn't add much, but made me feel like my Sims were really "living" in their world. What kinds of small, non-game changing things like that do you miss/love in older iterations of the game?

I played the N64 Castlevania years and years ago and always really liked the lore, atmosphere, etc. I also liked the idea of being the ultimate good, setting out to destroy the evil demons/vampires/skeletons/what-have-you. I've also recently started dm'ing Curse of Strahd.

Are there any games currently out on Switch that are similar to the N64 Castlevania and/or Curse of Strahd? I don't buy Switch games often so I'm not really up to date on what's out there, and I was completely overwhelmed when I went into the Switch shop to check for myself

Basically, I really like Castlevania's story/lore/aesthetic(?), and am looking for something similar. Like, something with demons and vampires, and you're the hero trying to end an evil like that. But, I'm not sure exactly where to ask for such a game. Is there a sub dedicated to suggesting games similar to r/suggestmeabook?

(Alternatively, if you know of such a game please let me know! I've only ever played the Castlevania for the Nintendo64--the one where you could play as the girl with those special powers--and I just really liked the creepy evil creature-slaying atmosphere)

E: I recently started DM'ing Curse of Strahd, which has gotten me back into the whole vampire slayer thing. So if

I'm a story player myself, and I just like hearing other people's Sims experiences.

One of my favorite stories was back in Sims 3. I'm usually a pretty realistic player, but when Supernatural came out I wanted to try some of the new monsters. I created this household with four roommates in the supernatural neighborhood--a vampire painter ashamed of her affliction; a werewolf woman who was secretly in love with her childhood best friend; the werewolf's childhood best friend, a fairy running for public office; and the newest roommate, a young human woman who didn't know about the supernatural.

The collective goal of the three supernaturals was to protect their secret identities from the huma

I am genuinely baffled by what happened at dinner the other night.

I was out at dinner with two friends, A and C. We're all from different countries (me, America; A, Hong Kong; C, Australia), so we were talking about our school systems and their differences. I brought up my world history class, and mentioned a song we learned in it to help us remember the order of the Chinese dynasties. I sang it as an example. It's to the tune of Frère Jacques, and the ONLY lyrics are the names of the dynasties to that tune--Shang, Zhou, Qin, Han; Shang, Zhou, Qin, Han; Sui, Tang, Song; Sui, Tang, Song... Etc.

When I finished, I was like, "see? Useful, right?"

Hey guys, I need help with a very specific request. I'm looking for a history book about France (preferably sometime between 1400s-1800s), but that's also accessible to someone who knows very little about French history.

Alternatively, are there any good books that kind of break down the Romantic movement (like explain the different artists, authors, etc). I'm particularly interested in the Romantic era authors/literature, but am willing to read about any aspects, honestly.

Recently I've developed an interest in these two topics (all of my favorite novels lately are Romantic period) but I don't know where to begin! Sorry this request is so vague.

Yyrreg, Star, Sifiye, Aruca, and Shadow, what are you even doing on this subreddit? Turn back now.

TL;DR at the bottom.

So like the title says, there's one player in particular who doesn't seem to realize that there are consequences.

The players have recently entered into Vallaki. Last session, they met the Martikovs and received the winery plot hook. I tried to make it VERY obvious that the Martikovs really don't want this information getting out.

The next stop was paying Vargas Vallakovich a visit, wherein our bloodhunter IMMEDIATELY tells him "oh by the way the owners of the tavern are apparently having some trouble with their wine supplier." This was like, literal seconds after thi

I live overseas, otherwise I'd just go in and ask myself. Next month I'm going home for Christmas and my sister just told me she was accepted into a prestigious program at her school. As a congratulations gift, I told her I'd get her a cake when I'm home, and asked what cake she wants.

She says she wants a cake with that picture of Hannibal Buress saying bitch (this but obviously not a gif lol ), bu

I understand that having an unpaid balance on my credit card means I will be charged interest every month, but I have two credit charges and I don't really understand why. The first one is the normal one, "interest charge - current purchases," but the second one is new and is called "interest charge - cash." The "cash" interest is more than the other one by about a dollar.

What is "cash" interest on a credit card? I can't call the bank because I'm out of the country currently. USA credit card/bank, if that matters.

**edit** I think I found the offending charge, "cash advance fee, -$92.00" which I definitely did NOT make. Thank you everyone for the info.

I know I need to befriend the stray in order to adopt it, but in all my saves I've never been able to do this before the cat or dog runs off and then comes back a while later, no longer a stray. For example, my sim was on vacation in the jungle when he met a stray dog named Penny. I was like "oh this will be cute! He goes on vacation to patch things up with the wife, and they come home with a new friend!"

The relationship bar was about 20% full when suddenly Penny runs away from the bungalow. I keep trying to interact with her to get her to stop leaving but it all gets cancelled out while she leaves.

I'm like uh ok. The next day I call penny(??) And it's like "she'll be right over!" But wh
