Hi all,

I pre-ordered a 9070XT Red Devil from overclockers beginning of July, unfortunately it's still on pre-order and I can't get any confirmed ETA for when it'll be restocked. I will stress this isn't OC's fault, they can only work with the information they're given (or not given). I also raised a ticket with powercolor directly who also couldn't give me any information about a restock, which surprised me the most.

(I know there is/was powercolor rep floating around one of these forums, maybe they can shed some light if they're still around?)

My question is, is this normal? I know on release there were stock issues which resolved themselves. I'm also presuming the card hasn't been disc

Hi,

Received a letter in the post from the DVLA with intent to prosecute for keeping of an unlicensed keeper of a motor vehicle contrary to section 29 of the vehicle excise & registration act 1994. According to the document the previous license expired in toward the end of 2002.

I'm based in England if that helps with specific pieces of advice.

Backstory.

-- I purchased the vehicle in September 2021 which was a rolling shell project with no drivetrain. The vehicle has lived in my garage from the instant it was delivered by the previous owner on the back of a trailer up until I sold it a couple of months ago, which again left on the back of a flatbed as a rolling shell

This is the stupi

Have an order for a PC build which hasn't shipped yet as it's pending a GPU restock.

Initial order includes a 9800x3d for £380, however, since I placed my order the 9800x3d has dropped by another £25 & the 9850x3d has dropped to £380.

So is the extra performance worth switching to the 9850x3d? Or is it worth just saving the £25 and sticking with the 9800x3d?

Hi,

I've ordered a Be Quiet! Silent loop 3 360 AIO to pair with a 9800X3D CPU, first time building a PC in nearly 20-years so looking forward to getting into the build!

I had a question about Be Quiet!'s thermal paste... is it any good? Unfortunately the documentation is quite vague as to which paste is actually supplied (I know BQ do a couple of different pastes).

So I stick with what's supplied or would I be better off with say Arctic Silver 5? I have access to AS-5 as I use it at work and I know it's a good performing paste.

Hoping some of you have this AIO, know which paste is supplied with the AIO and can offer advice based on your experience, if you swapped to a different paste.

Hi,

Current spec'ing a build using a 9070xt but not sure which one to choose, I think I've narrowed it down to the following.

- Gigabyte gaming OC (£559.99)

- powercolor hellhound (£589.99)

- sapphire nitro+ (£628.99)

I prefer the aesthetics of the hellhound the most and reviews/benchmarking say good mid-teir performance of the 9070xt's & well reviewed but have read coil whine is a thing with these.

Sapphire seems to be the best performance of the 9070xt's but is the most expensive & has the potentially sketchy 12VHPWR connector.

Gagabyte is the cheapest, seems to perform similarly to the HH & have read the vapour chamber helps keep this relatively cool but I also read gigabyte's c

Hi

Possibly looking to build a Gaming PC for the first time in 20 years and looking for advice on whether my build below is reasonable for the money, probably looking to run Bazzite for OS.

I want the setup for gaming mainly but also raspberry pi / Arduino tinkering, CAD as well as the usual life admin tasks.

I was / am tempted by a Steam Machine, it'll do everything I want it to - I like the SFF & living room experience offering. Is it overpriced? Yes but what isn't with AI ruining everyone's fun! Same reason I'm hesitant of building a rig, I'm somewhat offended at the prices of components since the AI rush! Anyway getting off topic...

I've tried to pick brands I'm familiar with that I

Hi,

As the title says, Thames water are installing a smart water meter on my property. I received no notification of this, the first I knew about it was when I caught a missed ring notification and the engineer was already mid installing the new meter by the time I managed to speak to them. As a result, I didn't manage to note down my meeting reading, TW have been terrible for vastly overestimating my readings despite regular updates, so I'm having to trust the engineer took it down correctly.

My understanding is I should have had at least a notification & a justification for why a new meter was needed?

How widespread is the roll out i.e. who has had a smart meter installed so far? Anyone

Screen resolution support

:snoo_thoughtful: Question

Hellooo

Depending on what the SM drops for I'm likely to buy as my way back into PC gaming for convenience, at least until component demand calms down a bit when I can build what I want without remortgaging my house!

Someone at work is selling/giving away an LG Ultragear 38GA950-B ultra wide curved monitor. The screen is cable of 3840x1600 resolution - my question is will the SM be capable of supporting this resolution?

I haven't managed to find anything that suggests support for ultrawide monitor resolution although I imagine it will probably be fine

Things/advice I'm not interested in receiving.

  1. I can built my own SFF PC for less

  2. SM doesn't/probably won't do 4K gaming well in B

Hi all,

I've narrowed down my first bike choice to a CB125R and I've found a MY24 I'm interested in (Red w/ Black trim + gold wheels = 🤌🏻). Before I go see it or buy, are there any known issues I should keep an eye out for? Apart from the obvious like it being dropped, crashed, poor maintenance, etc.

From what I've read they're a typical Honda, reliable. But searching for a buyers guide just seems to bring up rider initial reviews rather than long term reviews, which is unhelpful.

I greatly appreciate any help & advice you can share.

Thanks

* All 125s seem to be much of a muchness so pick what suits you best a crack on. Looked into the duke125 & mt125, etc but the CB125R is my preferred choice

I was initially really happy with the YouFibre1000 service after installation in March, speeds were great & installation was pretty straightforward - nearly done and equipment isn't a complete eyesore!

Unfortunately it's been all downhill from there! Speeds now rarely reach above 600mbps download, although oddly upload is hitting 900+mbps easily.

The main issue however is the settlement of my Virgin Media contract which hasn't happened. YouFibre failed to notify Virgin of my switch date and the 30-day notification window has now expired which has now left me paying for 2 services concurrently. Now in order to leave Virgin I need to enter another 30-day notice, which pushes me beyond my ori

Hi all,

Looking to complete my direct access soon so after some advice and recommendations for a good starter bike for beginners. Perhaps jumped the gun a bit asking now as I'm recovering from surgery delayed my plans but I'd like to get as much research done as possible while I'm waiting.

I'm budgeting for around about 5K for the bike, may be able to stretch that slightly but mortgage renewal is next year so trying to be sensible. I'm 5'11 & 100kg so need to be able to fit comfortably on the bike.

I have been discussing this with a couple of mates both have recommended Honda Hornet as a good starter bike. Said with my size it'd likely struggle to get comfortable on anything much smaller
