Tldr: I live 3 min from my store, my second in command made an expensive mistake instead of calling me for the answer. This isn't the first time he didn't call me and tried to fix it himself and cause moren issues.

I've been retail manager for 15 years, recently I moved to a chain grocery which is a slightly different field. I was hired for my strengths but I do have weaknesses . I've been very transparent about that because Ive needed to learn specific things from my reports who worked this field longer.

I mention it because it may or may not be part of the issue. This report has helped me with the backroom alot. The other stores I managed didn't have back stock. Shipments came in daily,

For this hypothetical the cure is 100 percent effectivere, cheap, painless, and easy. There is no ethical concerns over the treatment itself or worries about it's effectiveness.

Rapist/murderers/monsters are completely, totally, and permanently rehabilitated. Would you still still want them to spend time in prison for their crimes as punishment even thou rehabilitation was completely achieved and guaranteed. Again for this hypothetical the effectiveness of the treatment isn't disputed .it 100 percent works.

I got one for every work station and my office. No one has to use them, they are free to use whatever pens they want. I bought them mainly for me.

I have ADHD. I will steal your pen, then I will lose your pen. There is never a pen when I need one, and yes that's my fault I know that.

That problem is now solved. I don't need to borrow anyone pen. Starting tomorrow there will be a own everywhere I go that I cannot possible lose and I'm super excited. Just needed to share with someone.

We get a shipment once a week that requires two employees for an entire shift. One manager and one stocker.

The time changes. I get an estimated delivery time with 7 days notice. I make schedules 4 weeks out.

It's often late and I will only know that on deliver day. It's a hard thing to predict.

What I'm looking for is to be reasonable with my employees. Theres probably no pancakes and ice cream solution, I know, and I'm not trying to be the "cool boss". I'm sure there's advice out there to make it as little of a pain as it has to be. If that solution happens to be pancakes and ice cream tho that would be magnificent.

I also dont want to walk into some legal gray areas. For example I kno

"two flat tires, a death in family, a sprained ankle and now your dog needs to go to the vet? Have you encountered any mummies recently? Read from any ancient books? Disturbed a shrine by chance? I'm not saying it's lies I'm just saying what ever you took from wherever you took it, go ahead and bring that s**t back. We got to get these spirits appeased "

I'm moving up in dollar tree and although there are a lot of good people in this group there is also a lot of toxic behavior and being active here is frowned upon by corporate because of it.

Ive enjoyed my time here, got a lot of good advice, and given advice. I've had up votes and down votes. A few mostly civil disagreements.

I really like this group but career wise it's best I leave before upper management links my user name to my real name. That's why I'm asking mods for a ban so I'm not tempted to return. I wish this group had less negativity and was instead a resource for help and advice but this is the Internet and we just have to accept that it is what it is.

I remember it required me to set a new password and I could probably figure out what it was myself I just need the password requirements.

Without knowing if capital letters and special were required theres just too many complications.

Honestly all websites should just have that reminder "btw your password needed to be 14 digits and a capital letter" on the list password screen. it would help a lot in these situations.

I have a regular who's not happy about showing ID.

He says it's not a law in my state. I personally didnt care why it changed but I do like to be able to explain things logically to the customer. The register and can say 18+ but the customer wants to know why and I honestly don't know the answer.
