Once you can afford a salvage license, it's pretty easy, but how do you get a new character to the $5,000 for the 24h license? I got gold on the 3 courier missions within OKLG, but the rest were beyond my capabilities. Tried refurbishing broken equipment to like-new from the scrap dealer, but the margins were terrible and often I'd repair+restore an item just for them to not buy it.

It really feels like unlicensed salvaging is essential to get the ball rolling.

Not sure why, but my character's dialogue, reloads, and footsteps are all silent, plus ISAAC and recordings. All gunfire (including my own), other character's dialogue, and most of the environment still can be heard. I reset my audio to default, and didn't see anything weird in those settings. Has anyone else encountered this? Any idea how to fix it?

I'm new to lockpicking. I've been practicing picking, raking, and combing a terrible Master Lock 9140D, and I want more of a challenge (while still being possible for a noob). I tried looking online, but most hardware stores almost exclusively have Master Locks. How do I find a reasonable challenge?

I was trying to complete Missing Machinery (4 drill parts to the factory), but rolled my truck. I used the Recover feature, expecting my cargo to be dumped at the site of the rollover. Instead, it simply disappeared. It wasn't respawned back where it originated either. I haven't found any UI element to reset the mission. Currently I have a marker for the one piece that didn't disappear, and a marker for the factory. Any idea what to do?

I made a rig to compare the FOV of a medium camera against the angle covered, but the math doesn't quite make sense. How would you determine the FOV setting required for a given angle? My measurements below show how far from straight ahead the edge of a monitor was.

FOVAngle (degrees)
0.171.19
0.266.78
0.361.92
0.456.43
0.549.95

I'd been selling diesel to the village so I could fund buying more islands, but eventually it stopped buying my fuel. The two tanks had ~10k diesel each, and were getting pumped out by the same simple pump system that fueled my tanker in the first place. I had power.
Apparently there *was* a 10k sell-limit, but that has apparently been removed. Are the fuel/crude stations just finite tanks? Thank you.

How viable would it be to make a diesel-powered tanker that combines its fuel tank and storage? The idea is that it would use filters to extract diesel from the one tank, and could also filter out crude or jet fuel to sell.

Shipping diesel and crude are straight forward, as you just need a ship with storage tanks, but you can't get a ship to the airport to sell jet fuel. Also, there's no airstrip to land at the refinery, so it seems like shipping jet fuel is a multi-vehicle business. I did consider using a tanker ship to bring the jet fuel to the coast of the airport, then airlift a tanker truck with a long winch to carry from the ship to the point of sale. How do you guys go about it?

I've just started playing around with microtonal stuff, and noticed that most of the EDO tunings are based on splitting the octave into a prime number of steps, or double a prime number of steps. Aside from 12 and 24EDO, I have yet to see a multiple of 3, 4, or 5. Why is this?

I want to use the Pause/Break on my K95 RGB Platinum key as my mic mute toggle in Discord, but also have the key indicate if I'm muted. My first approach was to create a new profile like my default (except with the Pause key red), and use iCue to toggle between the profiles when the key is pressed. Unfortunately, I can't find an option to change profile from a keypress. Is my approach doable? Is there a better way of getting this result? Thank you.

I realize this game nominally has chain signals, but I think it would massively benefit from signals that behave like Factorio's chain signals. In Factorio, by the time you encounter the limitations of the two signals, you're probably working on completely overkill elaborate train systems. Meanwhile in Mashinky, I can't have a train only enter an intersection if its particular exit is clear. Thoughts?

Every time I want to use my Logitech Force 3D Pro joystick, I need to re-assign each axis. While not a disaster, it's pretty inconvenient. There must be a viable way around this issue, right? Thank you.

^(In before "you don't need a joystick to play KSP".)
