Long story short, I'm far more experienced in python than I am in VBA. I'm working on a script with Excel-VBA and I want to avoid needing to pass a million parameters to a function by just passing an object with a bunch of properties/variables so that I can access them in the function. Except in this case the object I want to pass is the current class. In Python, which I'm far more used to, you can pass "self" to a function while within a class and then that function will have access to the object of that class that called the function.

Is there anything similar in VBA?

note: I am very new to both Synology and setting up networks in general. I've been using linux as my main laptop for years but never had to use networking of any kind so I'm new to mounting and NFS.

So my family just got a Synology and we've got it set up so that the windows computers can all access the shared folders using windows' built-in networking. I have a linux computer and am finding it a bit more complicated. I was going to follow this article but the very first instruction is this:

Before You Start

This article assumes that you have

  1. Gather information: is the intention that this basically decides what the situation is? So if you roll poorly, then that means that you learn bad things, as opposed to doing a poor job of gathering information and therefore not learning anything.
  2. If you don't have initiative and you want to keep the fight going, your options are basically Face Danger or Clash, right? I can't think of anything else. Clash is decently risky, so I felt like since it is easier to lose initiative than gain it, it was easy to end up doing repeated Face Dangers, just waiting for a strong hit. One of the challenges with this is that I kept using my strongest stat and had a hard time keeping things narratively

My computer is set up with Lubuntu 16.04.2 and Windows 7, and I almost never use or even boot the Windows side. Since I almost never boot it, I doubt it's updated enough to be protected from the recent malware attack.

What I'm wondering is whether I am safe to boot the Windows side and update, or if it is possible that I could have been attacked already and I won't know until I try to boot.

Hello everyone, I'm working on setting up a new look for my computer and I've got everything in place but some photoshop work. Here's what my current desktop looks like: link. As you can see, the logo in the top left indicated with the arrow is ugly and doesn't fit. What I would like in its place is this logo, but with the colours changed: black instead of orange, and the rest transparent (which I think means it has to be a png file type?) Also, the current image (the blue circle thing) is 24 pixels tall, so I think it i

Yes, this is a lot of text. If you want, just read the summary at the end.

Introduction

First, I present an alternative to the NHL's current market system. I then give arguments for why such a change is needed, give an example of who the system would work, and identify some advantages and disadvantages compared to the current system.

Introducing a Currency

I would suggest that the NHL allow teams to buy and sell players and picks instead of only trading them. However, the currency used should not be any real currency, or hold any value outside the NHL market. We can see from looking at European Football that using real money leads to billionaire owners puttin

I've found a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to figure out whose it is. It is locked, and the only information that can be reached through the lock screen are the names of two contacts (who I've tried to look up and couldn't find). I can't seem to call anybody either, since the SIM is apparently unregistered.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I've figured it out. Found the owner.

According to the NHL rulebook,

If a player legally carries or passes the puck back into his own defending zone while a player of the opposing team is in such defending zone, the off-side shall be ignored and play permitted to continue.

Does this mean that if the puck goes out of the zone, but then back in by the defending team, the attacking team doesn't have to tag up? They can just go for the puck?

It just seems a little strange to me, especially since when I'm playing (in beer leagues, but still) it's never called this way.

With the release of official enhanced stats (Corsi, Fenwick, etc), do you think that fantasy sites like Yahoo will allow leagues to use these as categories? Do you think that this would add to fantasy?

JK Rowling is currently creating a story and events for the 2014 Quidditch World Cup, which is taking place right now. She's publishing the results in Pottermore as Daily Prophet new stories.

With the new show coming out about FBaWtFT, what are your opinions on a "show"ish type TV series that would essential show full CGI/special effects Quidditch games, as if they were really happening live. Rowling could even contact sports historians to make sure that the "story," i.e. who wins and loses, would feel real.

Would this be a success? Would you watch it?
