So I tried out the option to enable WiFI calling ON OTHER DEVICES - on my new T-Mo line. I then Turned OFF Wifi calling on my iPhone but Left the option ON for "other" devices. Then I turned my iPhone off.

Then I went to my iPad mini (connected to my Wifi) and made a call - WOW!!

I do not even need to carry my iphone around any more so long as I am connected to Wifi.

If I can do this with the Apple Watch I am going to buy it because WiFi calling is seriously awesome.

Pretty much every night sometime between 2 am and 3:30 am (I know) There is an awful smell that permeates our entire city block. This is about half a mile north of the I-70 a couple blocks west of Wadsworth. It smells like a skunk (or the worst MJ ever) but also has a bit of a burning rubber smell in it as well. It literally wakes me up at night. The smell lasts for about 20-30 minutes and then goes away.

So I thought it may be someone doing a Cheech and Chong thing but when I went outside to walk around and try to see where it was coming from the smell covered our entire city block - so it's not one smoker. It's also definitely worse outside the higher floors of our apartment window

After some discussion today I've been thinking about the Employee or Contractor debate a lot. I believe that there is a very good case to be made that all Uber drivers are contractors - and I do realize that there is a lot of disagreement on this :)

Let's see what the IRS says about being a contractor and if a case can be made that Uber is violating that. Here's what the IRS says along with a few thoughts:

Behavioral

  • When and where to do the work.

Uber requires that we adhere

I'm a driver and I was in London a couple weeks ago and went out for a little London partying in Soho (yay Soho!) . So after a few (ahem) drinks I say goodbye to my friends and order an Uber to my hotel a couple miles away. I made sure that the address AND pin were just where they were supposed to be (cause I'm a driver).

The driver (Arabic name) passes me - goes two blocks down the road and waits. I text him and tell him where I am and no answer back. I've seen this scam before (he wants the cancellation fee). I cancel and order a new Uber and the new driver shows up no problemo and we're on our way . A minute later I get charged for the original driver as a "no-show".

So I email Lo
