Hello all! My husband & I will be spending 4 nights in your city in June and I'm working on narrowing down our dinner options to a shorter list so he can choose. I was hoping I could get some opinions on a few places I'm looking at. About us- we're both 50 and looking for good food but not anything super fancy. No mexican, asian or burgers (we get great versions of those at home).
For a more casual & I guess more traditional sort of option which would you pick- Vīgante, Gauja or Tris Viri Laiva? All three are close to where we will be staying. I can't tell if they are the kind of places you go to have a meal or the kinds of places you go to drink and then decide to eat something. If that
We were in France in April and stopped here on our way from Strasbourg to Dijon. It's in an old fort in Neuf-Brisach that has been turned into a street art "museum". The artists change so what I saw in April might not be what you would see. There weren't any artists working when we were there but when they change artists you can watch them work. It was 10 euros to enter. There is also quite a bit of street art right outside as well. I love finding street art wherever we travel so I really enjoyed this.
I'm looking for a new crossbody bag for travel (something a little sleeker/more fashionable than my usual travel bag). I like the look of the Minooy Bali Three- Layer bag https://www.minooy.com/products/the-bali-three-layer-leather-crossbody?variant=39564265947332
Does anyone have any experience with this brand?
My mom's favorite perfume is Kate Spade's Twirl which is discontinued. So a couple of questions
-if I could find a bottle on ebay or somewhere like that would it still be good? I don't wear perfume so no idea how long unopened bottles last.
-I thought about getting her the perfume sampler from Sephora- https://www.sephora.com/product/bestselling-holiday-perfume-sampler-P500892?skuId=2602985&icid2=products%20grid:p500892:product - anyone know if there is a similar scent here she might like? I thought this way she could try to find a new favorite.

We recently finished Belascoarán, PI on Netflix and I highly recommend it. It's about an engineer in Mexico who decides to quite his job and become a private detective (there's a little more to it but don't want to spoil anything). It stars Luis Gerardo Méndez who you'll recognize from Narcos Mexico (he played Victor Tapia the cop looking into the serial killer preying on women) and Paulina Gaitán who was on the original Narcos (as Tata Escobar). There are only three episodes though they are a bit longer than normal TV episodes. It's got a kind of Rockford files vibe to it. Definitely worth checking out. I haven't seen if there will be a 2nd season yet but I hope so as the first ended on a
We were in Salamanca in late August/early September and it was beautiful as expected. But what wasn't expected was all the great street art. It's in a neighborhood called Barrio del Oeste. There is a ton more than I have pictured here. If you like street art definitely worth checking out.
For some reason the three pack Pattern Mini Conditioners kit is coming up as $6 on Ulta. The exact same size individually sell for $9 each. Not sure if it's a mistake but it's not marked as a sale.
Edited to add the link

Any suggestions for a packable sun hat that is still a bit fashionable? I'll be out in the sun in 90+ heat all day in cities in Portugal and Spain so trying to not look too dorky. I don't usually wear a hat.
edited to say- I'm a women
I'm travelling carry on only to Spain & Portugal and I know I won't have enough space to bring as much conditioner as I would like (I'd rather make sure I have enough of the gel & curl cream I like). I've been doing some looking at old posts on here and I see that Carrefour & Mercadona seem to have a decent collection of Garnier that should work as well as possibly Tresemme.
Are there any specialty beauty stores I should be checking out? Like Ulta in the US? I'll be in the Caceres, Salamanca & Segovia areas. I've seen Primor come up but they don't seem to be in those areas.
What salon brands are sold in Spain (like an Oiudad, Innersense or Devacurl)?
Any help would be
Hi all, need some cleanser recs. I (48F) have dry sensitive skin. I'm currently using the cleansing serum from Shani Darden and I really like it. It lathers a tiny bit, doesn't strip my skin, it leaves it feeling clean and doesn't leave behind a film. No irritation at all. But it's $38 and I can't justify that for something I'm just washing off.
I've tried Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser & CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser and hated them both. It felt like I was putting almost a slime on my face and they both feel like they don't rinse clean and leave behind a film. I don't need my cleanser to moisturize, just clean (I have a great moisturizer I love).
Any suggestions for a gentle clean
New homeowner in the market for a new roof & gutters. The gutters are the main issue but the roof is old (20+) years and is showing some age so we figured we'd get them both done together.
We're in Chicago and it's a bungalow. We also have a dormer that has a flat roof. We don't want vents as we have dense packed cellulose (our soffit vents aren't actually real and this was suggested to us since the roof wasn't vented). We may end up getting foam insulation- we have it on part of the roof)
We've gotten 4 estimates and they are all coming in pretty close.
How concerned should we be about them using subcontractors? I don't like the idea of them just picking up some guys at Home Depot
Last month Allure Beauty Box had a contest on their Instagram for the complete Shani Darden skin care line. You just had to follow Allure Beauty Box and Shani Darden and leave a comment about retinol. Winners chosen at random and I won! I got the prize today.
I already use the Retinol Reform and the cleanser so nice to have back-ups of those. Looking forward to trying everything else! I'd forgotten she had an essence. And I've wanted to try the lactic acid (Good Genes is too strong for me). I've never won anything before so I'm super happy!
