3d in 2d: advice needed

tech support - open

So - I’m looking for advice on how best to proceed. Tech support was the only flair close to appropriate - hope this fits.

I have some 3d assets - mesh and a ton of animations. I’m wanting to use them in a 2d project. I’ve done some work to render the 3d animation frames to 2d textures and make sprite sheets - all that works and looks good in the engine. I’m loving how much easier this all is in godot as opposed to the engine I’m migrating from.

But, there are a few things that I want to do that have me questioning if going 3d-2d in this way is the right move. These are: modular character components and grime layers on materials.

So - the question: is there an elegant way, in godot, to

I’m new here, and to tabletop like this in general. I have a 3d printer, but not a ton of space. Is there anywhere I can get the minis in stl to print at a smaller scale?

I see terrain stl but nothing for the actual unit minis.

Thanks!

I’m at the very early stages of making a point and click detective adventure game. I have my own list of favorite mechanics and my own thoughts on the worst parts of the genre/things I’d like to see done better.

What are yours? What’s on your wishlist?

This will take me a bit to put together, but the idea popped into my head a while ago and won’t go away. Show of hands - how many would be interested in a Wheel of Time re-flavor of Keep on the Borderlands most likely using the Forbidden Lands system?

Feel free to comment any ideas this brings to mind- I was thinking of a literal keep reclaimed from the Blight, set in the time between the Aeil War and the main book series.

Out a ways from the big city lies the town of Coldwater, named after the body of water it borders. Coldwater is a complacent place and its residents prefer it that way, thank you very much. Most townsfolk will greet you with a smile, but asking about the Incident from about a year back will get you met with cold stares and abruptly shut doors. But here’s the thing, folks have started disappearing again, and this time it was out-of-towners.

The Bloom is a sandbox adventure for Liminal Horror. Something sinister is happening in the town of Coldwater. Campers have gone missing, but the townsfolk won’t say a word and the authorities are less than helpful. Can your team of Investigators find ou

Looking for Players

I’m looking for a few (2-3) players to help me test out Kreigsspiel^ style play by post skirmish wargaming.

We’ll be playing on a custom isometric battle map with heavy fog of war. You’ll build your warband and embody their commander- you only know what they know… only see what they see.

Do you set up an ambush or rush into one yourself? You don’t have to know the system, the lore, or have the minis - all you need is to be an effective commander.

Warning you’ll be my Guinea pigs and will be expected to provide feedback on the format and to post regularly.

^The way kriegsspiel works is like xcom- you give orders and I do all the rolls.

Hey- hoping to gauge interest for a game I have in mind.

I want to try running a Mordheim style skirmish game via pbp. Gameplay would be Kreigsspiel style where you submit your moves privately to me [the ref] and I resolve all moves at once for all players.

I have a multi-layered isometric map I’ve been working on - should have it finished by new years. This game would lean hard into fog of war to leverage the strengths of pbp. For example, you send a scout out of line of sight- you don’t know what happens to them until they report back, you see them again or you have some kind of signal set up.

Eventually, I’d like to turn this into some kind of massive Mordheim campaign/living world st

Yeah, first thought I had when reading the book the first time (aside from “this is awesome”) was “man-A hardcore survival megadungeon would be awesome”. So- I come to y’all who have run this game far more than me, what adaptations do I need to make?

I’m considering Stonehell, and essentially having the players plumb the depths to pay off a debt. Stonehell’s book has all the maps, all the random and set encounters, all the loot spelled out in advance.

I want to carry over as much of the overland stuff as possible into the underworld. How do I pull it off?

The Mall is a wet, gooey, practical effects filled TTRPG adventure set in a 199x mall pulled out of time and space. The mall’s denizens are trapped >!inside with a creature not bound by any one form.!< It >!slithers!< among them now, preparing to >!assimilate and imitate its victims!< until no one is left and >! it can open a rift between its home dimension…AND EARTH!< !

Been wanting to run this for a while now. Spooky Season seems like the right time. This is a rules light Cairn based game- super easy to learn.

Looking for regular posters on this one- want to limit the run to October-November… maybe a bit into December if needed to wrap up the storyline.

Think 90s era Mallrats mixed wit

I have an existing group that have run through a few modules together (Rotblack Sludge, Graves Left Wanting, The Corpse Dam, Death Ziggurat). I’m looking to fill some gaps in the party.

Players have just hooked up with the merchant Mikhael - their choices will steer the caravan to its next destination. We’re doing a kind of an ad-hoc module crawl/cobbled together campaign so it should be pretty painless to jump in to the existing game.

Dm me or reply here if you’re interested.

Hey family,

I’m about to start a new gym routine- it’s been a while since I went regular. I’ve mainly done body weight, some CrossFit and a bunch of jujitsu/judo drills in the past, but I’m joining a planet fitness for convenience.

I’ve decided to hit weights hard and after some research picked up on the idea of “power building” (basically body building but mixing in power strip sets and the like. I’ve never built this kind of program before so I’d like any advice. Basic plan as of now is 30-45 minutes 4-5 times a week after work, fasted. Planning on doing some kind of split- 20- 30 minutes of heavy lifts after a warmup, then some hiit style stuff like tabatas (more comfortable with this

Hey folks!

I’ve done a fair bit of dark fantasy osr (both as player and DM)- mainly Mork Borg and Cairn. I’ve never played a sci-fi game though- and there seem to be some neat ones. (Death in Space, Screams amongst the stars, Mothership, Monolith, Meteor)

I’m looking for another player/Gm for a duet. You run a solo game for me- I do the same for you. Also open to someone looking to run a solo game or someone looking to be a player is a solo game- really just looking for an excuse to try out games in this setting.

Hey Scvm, my players are about to wrap up Rotblack Sludge and from there we’ll be continuing with a chain of modules until the final misery happens and darkness swallows the world.

I need 3-4 players to jump in. No knowledge of the previous module is needed. Each can be stand alone, but if you stay with us- it’ll be a long term slog through the filth and decay of a dying world.

Since spots are limited, I’ll take the best responses. Thanks!
