##r/GoNorthwestern Rules

Follow good Reddiquette when commenting and voting. This means being respectful of those around you and following this site’s rules.
Help make r/GoNorthwestern a positive atmosphere where fans from many different backgrounds can come to to talk about NU athletics. That means being respectful of everyone, no matter what team they support. The mods hold the right remove posts and ban users if they feel it is necessary to make the community as awesome as possible. We want our community to be as friendly and fun as possible!
Check the New Queue before submitting a post. This is to prevent reposts, spamming, and whatnot.
Do not make lazy submissions. This includes memes, image macros, lazy text posts, etc.
Spamming is not allowed. Do not submit a link multiple times or link to a site you write for if it is only for the sake of driving more traffic to that site. For more information, check out Reddit’s self-promotion guidelines and spam guidelines.
Do not make racist, bigoted, or personal attacks. You will be banned. We’re all human here, show some respect! Even if you are joking, it can be hard to communicate that over the Internet. This rule also extends to demeaning comments about sexuality, rape, mental disorders, and much more. The mods reserve the right to decide if your post is an infringement of this rule.

##Posts to Avoid

Reposts - Reposts provide almost nothing to the community, so remember to check the new queue before posting.
Posts that are not Northwestern athletics-related - This is the NU sports subreddit. People come here for, well, information on Northwestern sports!. If your post is not related to that, please find the appropriate place to post it!
NSFW posts - Unless you are completely sure that it relates to college basketball and it is labeled with the NSFW tag, this is not the place for that kind of content.
Biased titles - Please, even if you hate the team you’re submitting a post about, make the title as informative and unbiased as possible. If you really feel the need to let your opinion be known, then you should post it and then put your opinion in the comments.
Team Attack threads - This subreddit is inhabited by fans of all teams, so posts attacking a specific team are not allowed.
Mobile links - Link to a non-mobile website.
Paywall content - An example of this is ESPN Insider. Do not link to sites where it costs money to read the article.
