Welcome to r/MelodicHipHop - Reddit's home for melodic hip hop music!

What exactly is melodic hip hop? In general, think "autotune". While traditional hip hop often focuses on lyricism, bars, and rhymes; melodic hip hop puts more of an emphasis on the overall musicality and vibe of a song. It often incorporates "sing-rapping", and autotune as mentioned before. All relevant melodic subgenres are welcome here (rap, trap, and RnB).

Sharing songs, albums, and artists; as well as starting discussions and sharing news are all encouraged here.

Here are a few examples of popular artists that fall into this category:

Travis Scott
Future
Tory Lanez
Young Thug
Lil Uzi Vert
NBA Youngboy
Juice WRLD
Lil Baby
Gunna
NAV
Trippie Redd
Lil Durk
Ty Dolla $ign
Post Malone
YNW Melly

If you're still confused about what this sub is all about, you are more than welcome to message the mod team and ask questions. We'd be happy to help!

Music Posting Guidelines:

When posting songs or albums, use the simple format ARTIST - TITLE; do not post any other information or commentary in title.

RULES:

Be respectful and use common sense.
Be an active listener. Don't say you hate a song after you've only heard a 5 second snippet of it. Really give it a chance first.
Use "downvote" sparingly. We want this to be a positive and welcoming community for everyone. Please reserve the use of the downvote button for posts that are completely off-topic, offensive/inappropriate, or just really horrible/low quality. All we're saying is, don't be a dick for no reason.
Flair your posts to make them easier to find. For a list of the available flairs and when to use them, please look here.
Sharing your own music is allowed for the time being, using the "OC" flair. Please limit these sort of posts to once a week max. We want this to be a platform that can get your music heard, but we also don't want this sub to get overrun by self-promo spam.
No piracy allowed. We wish to abide by Reddit's content policy, so please do not post pirated content or encourage others to do so.
