Those familiar with the works of Jorge Luis Borges will likely recognize the names Tlön, Uqbar, and Tertius Orbis as the title of one of his great short stories in which a group of academics secretly imagine a new world in striking detail, writing encyclopedias and inventing languages until their vision begins to affect the real world.

r/Tlon is a place where inventive redditors gather to bring that fiction to life. We revel in the challenge of realistically fleshing out an entirely hypothetical world as a framework through which we can analyze and understand the problems and triumphs of our own.
