POSTS OR COMMENTS CONDONING WHITE SUPREMACISTS OR THEIR BELIEFS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, AND WILL BE GROUNDS FOR A PERMANENT BAN FROM THIS SUBREDDIT.

ALL QUARRIES IN THE COUNTY ARE PRIVATELY OWNED AND IT IS ILLEGAL TO SWIM IN ANY OF THEM

But what about-

The emergency sirens are tested at 12pm and 7pm on the first Friday of each month

There are three parts to the test - a sustained siren (representing a weather emergency - aka, a tornado), a warbled siren (representing an "other" emergency), and an announcement (for authorities to convey critical information via the emergency loudspeakers in case of ongoing emergency).

If the weather is (or is forecast to be) severe on the first Friday, the test will not take place.

Subreddit Rules

1. No harassing/mocking others

Let's keep things civil. It's OK to disagree with others, but there will be no harassment, mocking, doxxing, or otherwise targeting other individuals. Hate speech will get you banned.

We go by Wheaton's Law, here - Don't Be a Dick.

2. No spamming

Examples of spam posts: Intentionally repeated posts, posts about things unrelated to r/bloomington, Bloomington/surrounding areas, and the denizens thereof, posts from bots

NOT examples of spam posts: Meetup announcements, questions that you think have been asked too many times

Note: Promoting your own business or something you have for sale are allowed, so long as you are offering a specific Redditor discount. Otherwise, we encourage posting in r/BtownExchange.

3. No requesting/encouraging illegal activity

Don't ask about things here that you wouldn't ask an officer of the law. We don't care what you do in your free time, but do not discuss illegal activities, here. This includes questions about swimming in quarries, where to obtain drugs, requests for people to violate rules established by other entities (IU, apartment complexes, etc.)

4. No Posting of Disallowed Links

Fundraising, asking for money, GoFundMes: You may want to try r/care or r/assistance. All links of this type will be removed. Multiple attempts will be viewed as spam.

5. No Racism/Misogyny/Trans- or Homophobia

Posts or comments condoning white supremacists or their beliefs will not be tolerated, and are grounds for a permanent ban from this subreddit.

Posts or comments containing or supporting racist, misogynistic, and/or trans- or homophobic content are forbidden and will be removed, and are grounds for a permanent ban from this subreddit.

6. No Personal Ads or Hookups

To maintain a safe and respectful community, we strictly prohibit personal ads or posts seeking hookups. This includes, but is not limited to, posts seeking romantic partners, casual encounters, or soliciting adult content. Please use appropriate platforms or subreddits dedicated to these purposes. Violation of this rule may result in removal of your post and potential further action.
