Welcome to r/derealization! There are certain aspects of this condition that lend itself to other conditions such as general anxiety disorders, or even depersonalization. We're here to help.

If you have any type of question related to this condition or if you'd like somebody to talk to, there's an entire community willing to lend a helping hand. If your answers are unable to be answered here, messaging the mods may be a good way to find out more information.

Currently, this subreddit is quite small. There are many people with anxiety and who experience the symptoms of derealization or depersonalization, but have no idea that the word for it even exists. My hope is to be able to provide help to others suffering from this terrible condition.

Common symptoms are:

Feeling as though you're living in a dream
Intense feelings of detachment from the world around you
Feeling as though you're watching yourself from a third person perspective
Feeling tired all of the time, even after a regular night of sleep
Feeling as though the world has lost a sense of depth or color

######General Rules

Be respectful and supportive: Treat all members with kindness. Avoid making offensive or inflammatory comments. Remember that everyone's experience with derealization and mental health is different, and it's important to respect those differences.
No self-promotion or spam: Refrain from posting promotional material, advertisements, or spam. Any links or posts that are irrelevant or self-promotional will be removed.
No encouraging harmful behaviors: Do not promote or encourage self-harm, substance abuse, or any other harmful behavior. Such posts will be removed, and users may be banned for repeat offenses.
