Hi there!
I'm excited to announce that Kreya is finally in Public Beta. It is a free gRPC GUI client for Windows and Mac (Linux support coming soon). Imagine Postman, but with focus on gRPC services. Just import your .proto files (or use server reflection) and start calling your gRPC services!

grpc_bench aims to provide an automatic benchmark suite for gRPC server implementations across different hardware.

Clone the repository, run the build script and you are ready to go!

The way it works is the following:

  • a container running the gRPC server is started (with a limit of 1 CPU)
  • a second container running ghz makes unary requests to the server (5 connections, each doing 10 requests in parallel)

We aren't expert in all the tested languages, so there could be room for improvement. More languages/libraries will be added in the future. And, of course, any contribution is welcome!

Another iteration of grpc_bench!

Changes:

  • We introduced a major change for the protobuf payload - previously it was a simple string (though with parametrizable size), now the structure can be specified and defaults to a more complex one which seems more realistic. Unfortunately we had to temporarily disable PHP Swoole, Swift and [Haskell](https://github.com/LesnyRumcaj

This is another iteration of the gRPC benchmark posted here 9 months ago. During this period we received a lot of contributions, for .NET, Java and Swift to name a few. Several versions got bumped. The reception was really warm, thank you!

But let's recap first:

grpc_bench is an automatic benchmark suite to test various gRPC implementations across different programming languages and under configurable conditions.

The idea behind is quite simple. Each test suite is composed of:

Hi r/grpc! We've spent a few months working on a TypeScript replacement for grpc-web and wanted to share.

connect-web generates ergonomic, compact TypeScript clients from your backend's Protobuf schema. Clients support the full gRPC-Web protocol, including server streaming, trailers, and error details. Compared to Google's grpc-web, Connect clients

  • Are idiomatic TypeScript all the way down. No getters, setters, or other Java-isms.
  • Support JSON (in addition to Protobuf's binary serialization).
  • Support promise-based and callback-based APIs.
  • Have >80% smaller bundle sizes.

Clients also support Connect's own protocol. It's the best of
