Worst part of the other subreddit is boot posts. You won’t allow that I hope? If so, I’m a perpetual convert.
The subreddit militarystories has great stories that we can mostly relate to if you've been around long enough.. but...
I wanna know your worst fuck up since you've been in. To kick it off, here's my best effort -
- D5 patrol. Lowering the OTH for AMIO and I'm on aux watch as a young 3rd. EOW says to put sewage in restricted - poop goes to and stays in the tank - I say, sure!
Guy before me on watch apparently said he put it in unrestricted - ie, all poop goes over the side - but the unrelenting 4 to 8s got me all sorts of tired. So I flip the switches, turn the valve, say "all's good!"
Get back to main control.
Overhear on the radio - "hey main control, why does the small boat smell
I don't know how to moderate a subreddit, or much else about this..
But it seems most of us are tired of seeing "I'm a sociology degree dropout what rate should I go?" posts, so this is my half-assed approach to fixing that.

Hello All!
My name is Drey, I'm 18 years old and greatly looking forward to my career in the USCG! I have family and friends deeply involved in the Coast Guard and although I have a slight idea of what to expect, basic is always is a shock to peoples system and everyones experiences are different. So how can I better prepare? I'm in good shape, (5k in 22 mins, 60 pushups in a minute, roughly 80 situps in a minute) and
Hello! I am looking for some perspectives from people who have been stationed on the little old island of Kodiak, Alaska. Whether you were on Base, at the Air Station, or on the ANT team, I want to know the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I'm not planning on being stationed there any time soon but the area is completely fascinating to me. I feel like one insane story after another comes out of that place and I wonder what your opinions are on working up there. You're out in the bitter cold on an island populated by AT MOST 14,000 people and your circadian rhythms are shot from days and days of sunlight and/or darkness. How do you handle it? What is it like? I heard that you have to take a plan
