Way to permanently disable the jingle/chime sound for log in and out?

I use NM to log in to my Mac from PC. No matter what I do in order to mute the mac, it always unmutes and the jingles for log in and out continue to occur. Is there a way to permanently turn off those jingle chime sounds? Appreciate any insights here, thanks!
