And you tell them nicely and firmly in person the first time, and then you tell them nicely and firmly in writing the next. You don’t keep grudges, you keep a record.

My biggest piece of advice is to not go the passive aggressive route and hope they change their habits, but to be as direct as possible. Leaving absolutely no room for nuance and just being super straight up and honest. Of course in a respectful way, but if you come to them knowing you’re being respectful but straightforward, you won’t leave the convo biting your nails about it. You set those boundaries and that’s that. Good luck, roommates suck

Can you find replacements for yourselves in your lease? Hate to say it, but I don’t foresee this changing if that’s how they are now.

1. I took out a crap ton of trash this morning because the two girls haven’t done it for months (they stayed here during the summer). The shed is still filled with trash bags that they’ve neglected to take out 
2. The one girl is having friends over on a school night and being extremely loud, even after me and our other roommate and I said were completely exhausted from classes this week and have to get up early tomorrow 
3. She sleeps all day long so doesn’t care if she’s loud all night 

This is our first week living together with these new girls so me and my friend really don’t know how to address this.
