I really like The Division 2. It has a ton of flaws but the moment to moment gameplay is addicting and the shooting is a satisfying. The loot is decent, although I really am not a fan of the huge numbers that kind of lose meaning (whats the difference between 11340 damage and 11345 damage, I mean really). But it's a great game.

the game seriously lacks a common lobby system to find players that have common interest to co-op together. The matchmarking is useless, it often got us into a mission that we wouldnt want, and there is no blacklist system to block certain mission we dont like.

Friends and I had a blast with it for a few months and the new dlc. SO MANY ISSUES.
But the core gameplay loop is fun. The hardest difficulty raids and missions are nuts and end up all sitting in a safe spot cheesing with drones and shit, but it's fun.
I put it down for now because I have every build I wanted pretty much maxed, but it was a good 100+ hours.

I don't like the game that much. Beat the campaign and left it alone but I do see the appeal of playing it some more.

This was the first game that UBISOFT did not release on Steam anymore back in 2019 (went EPIC / UPLAY exclusive as a publisher).
After the release of a lot of other previously unavailable titles (Anno 1800, AC: Valhalla), Division 2 is now on steam aswell.
Still waiting for R6 Extraction and Far Cry 6...

Trackmania I don't know, because it's with a subscription system, so I am not sure if they would do that. But who knows. Breakpoint I think 100% will come to Steam at one point. I believe they should bring everything back to Steam, but that's my opinion.

I really should get back into Div 2 + WoNY.
I played so much Division 1, esp the end game content to find gear.
NY as a setting is much more iconic and evocative to a non-native NYer/DCer, but the use of the museums in Div 2 is quite fun.

Hey are you me? For real, I'd love to go back on. I played it totally solo for a huge chunk too, D1 was a totally chill game to mong out on, and D2 has that same appeal. Gonna go ahead and blame fatherhood for me though!

The steam version will just launch Uplay, where it sounds like you already own it.
I'd suggest just adding your existing copy to steam as a non-steam link, and calling it a day

Playing this right now (albeit on PS5) and it’s really, really good. I’m not even someone who enjoys looter shooters or Ubisoft open world style games all that much but this game really does it for me. The loot and gear progression is really well done, gunplay is smooth and polished, and some of the missions can be surprisingly challenging with some really smart AI. It’s all playable - and enjoyable - solo. Highly recommend it.

I've read that the PC version still has random crashing issues. It's one of the reasons I stopped playing a few years ago.
I guess it's really difficult to narrow down the problem. Some people have it bad while others not so much.

I have rx 5700xt and it's always been unplayable for me. But I don't know if it's the game or the driver. Just random crashes all over the place.

I had quite a few problems with my old 5700 and Ubisoft Games. Since I got a new card (AMD too) the Game run a lot better.

Ubisoft is so fucking lazy. Cant put any steam achievements in there. A simple thing to put in the game for 100%ers and collectors and in general give a tad more steam integration.

The thing is, they have their own launchers with achievements for every game there. Why aren't they placing achievements here? They want to draw people to their own launcher, as they keep 100% of the profits there, here Steam takes 30%. So.. yeah, it's a business decision and I understand it. I am not a massive achievement guy anyway, so it doesn't bother me. I do understand that others dislike it, but clearly they are doing it as a business decision!

Anyone have an idea whether this will work on Steam Deck? I don't see any info on verification status on Steam yet, but I imagine it will launch via the Ubi launcher which might cause problems. I haven't monkeyed around with stuff like this enough to know.

The problem isn't the launcher, game anticheat wont work with the deck until ubisoft enables it.

Unfortunately, you need to dual boot to windows. Which for me personally, isn't going to happen.

Ultimate just includes a few side missions, some cosmetics, and instant unlocks of the game's specializations. You can unlock the specializations without Ultimate edition by completing special objectives.
Imo I would just get the WoNY edition.

I found it really grindy to unlock the specs without $. i ended up dropping it for the second time while doing that.

I love this game and have been playing it since launch. If you like looter shooter games, this is a great one to pick up.
Also FYI Ubisoft offers a free 8 hour trial of the game: https://register.ubisoft.com/the-division-2-trial/en-US
And since the Steam version syncs with your Ubisoft account anyway, your progress should transfer over if you decide to buy it on Steam after the trial.

I got the game on Xbox (WONY ultimate edition was on sale for $16 there) a week ago and am really enjoying it. I got through the main campaign and am now in the expansion and its been a lot of fun just turning my brain off and shooting guys. Excited to get to the end of the game and try some different builds out, but its already felt like money well spent.
I probably should have been patient for Steam but I saw the sale and grabbed it.

I'd recommend going for the WoNY bundle, as it gets you the entire NY map (I'm not sure if it's 1:1 from Division 1, but it's close enough). Definitely an amazing value add.

It’s a different section of Manhattan than Division 1. Its smaller but still plenty dense and beautiful.

Division 2's nyc takes place in downtown area and is 1:1 with real nyc. Division 1's nyc takes place more in the central area of nyc bordering central park. It's also skipping a few streets every once in a while, so more like 1:3 scale to the real city.
More the reason to check them both out though!

Anyone wondering if Deck is supported, the short answer is a big fat no.
Yup you can thank the anti cheat system. You can try to stream it or install windows on your deck if you really really want to play this.
This is such bullshit, Elderscroll online and Guild War 2 can run smoothly on steam deck without any technical or software hiccup, why shouldn’t this? Fuck you Ubisoft
