Fenix 7s VO2 Max way down

[DEVICE]

I used a Fenix 5 for a couple years as I started cycling seriously at the start of the pandemic. I got Garmin power pedals pretty quickly as well, and my VO2 settled around 45-47.

In November I received a Fenix 7s, and it took a week or so for it to give me a VO2 score of 31. In the time since it’s gone up to 33 and plateaued there. I never run, yet my running VO2 Max is also 33.

Is the Fenix 7s so much more accurate than the 5, and I’m just truly in the bottom 15% for my age and sex (46 male)? Or does this seem to be some sort of glitch?

I've you're relatively fit your VO2max is not going to be 33 for sure. I run more than cycle so I can't help much but something is wrong. Either you need to recalibrate your pedals or something. 45-47 seems much more likely. I don't have experience with power meters.

Yes. Weight is updated daily by my scale. HR zones are the auto Garmin zones, I’ve read they have nothing to do with it. I adjust my Max HR every time I get a notice that it’s changed, which is hardly ever anymore.

Was your max HR on the Fenix 5 the same as what you are setting the Fenix 7? Max HR seems to be the biggest user variable that creates suspicious VO2max values

Just go for some runs with it? It will fix itself
