Do you like cookies soft or crunchy?

2
gothgossipOP•

soft, but sometimes along the outside i like a bit of crunch to balance it out, yk??

Yeah I get you, nothing worse than a cookie that looks good and you bite into it and it’s like a crisp, for me anyway.

Are they gooey though?

I just woke up and am eating oatmeal raisin cookies while scrolling. It’s 4am here. What time is it where you are? What made you decide to make cookies?

hey cookie twins!! :D

it’s 23:13 here rn :) and i decided to make cookies because it was foretold in the prophecy- no seriously though, i bought some chocolate chips the other day. i like to make a batch of cookie dough every couple of weeks, freeze it, then take a bit out and bake some whenever i want freshly baked cookies! also i just felt like baking to take my mind off of things; cooking is very cathartic for me <3

That’s a great idea. It would be dangerous for me because I would want cookies all the time.

it’s been a major lifestyle choice for sure, but i’m committed 😔

Cookies make life better. Keep up the good work.

I woke up from a dream that I was on an airplane. I was struggling to move in my seat. For some reason there were a couple chefs and cooks that were accompanying a passenger behind me. Were you in my dream before I woke up and saw your post?

What was the last dream you remember having?

update: finally put the cookies in the oven this afternoon. they were, in fact, gooey and delicious and the choc chips stayed all melty even after the cookies had cooled!

Do you enjoy baking/would you consider it a hobby of yours?

1
gothgossipOP•

i do indeed! i love cooking and baking, especially for the people i care about. i also love experimenting in the kitchen as i rarely follow recipes and like to test my skills by seeing what new dishes i can come up with, or trying to replicate a meal i’ve had in a restaurant before, one from a different cuisine, etc. by really focusing on the flavours and trying to figure it out as i go along. it’s very relaxing for me and one of mu favourite hobbies for sure! :))

That sounds lovely! <3

Do you have a favourite thing to bake? And what experiment/replication are you most proud of?

1
gothgossipOP•

honestly, probably my choc chip cookie recipe as i’ve spent years perfecting it. in general, i’m just proud of my ability to memorise flavours and put my own spin on classic dishes, or just go wild when it comes to cooking and somehow have it turn out well. i can’t really think of specific dishes in this case, perhaps pho, egusi soup, and kimchi stew though. oh! also pizza-

What beverage do you think is the perfect accompaniment to cookies?

1
gothgossipOP•

either a cup of tea or a glass of ice cold milk (i like oat milk). hot chocolate sounds good in theory but ofttimes, the sweetness is overwhelming and sickly sweet :(

i when it comes to baking, learn the science of it first and the art, second. it can be very tricky and technical, so when starting off, it usually helps to have recipes as a guideline, learn about the different properties of certain ingredients, the steps at which you add each ingredient, the cooking times, heat, methods for incorporating ingredients (mixing vs. folding, for instance)… but don’t be afraid to experiment. also don’t be afraid to fail either. most of the time, we learn what to do by learning what not to do. cooking and baking are indulgent, a way to treat oneself and share that with loved ones. perfection is unattainable; aim for making something wholesome and delicious, or at least something you can be proud of trying to bake

that’s okay i don’t eat chicken so i’ll have to take your word for it, chef!

i know it can be scary venturing into new things, but it’s an opportunity to learn rather than something to be intimidated by or put too much pressure onto yourself for. just think of all the yummy snacks you’ll get to eat along the way! <3

How did the cookies turn out? Do you have anyone to share them with or are they all for you?

1
gothgossipOP•

i haven’t baked them yet; got too sleepy so the dough is still chilling, but they seem to cook better after a day or so chilling so i amn’t too worried about it all

i would share them if anyone wanted them. my mam doesn’t really like sweets so she’ll probably have 1/8 of a cookie, thank me for it, then leave the rest uneaten on the kitchen counter. my stepdad will ask to have some, forget they exist, then let them all go stale- so i usually just bake one or two at a time for myself. however, we’re planning upon making a little shared lunch/ bring a plate platter for lunch at school on wednesday’s so perhaps i’ll bake some for them if it’s organised by wednesday
