Suing Airline in the Netherlands from the United States

Netherlands

I need to file a lawsuit citing EU travel rights against KLM (Dutch airline). The flights took place last September and were booked through a travel company called EF Ultimate Break. I departed from Rome, had a layover in Amsterdam, and eventually landed in Los Angeles. I now live in Chicago. Trying to figure out who I can hire and where to help with this. Will supply more info if necessary. Thanks!

A concrete question would be nice.

Yeah, we do not sue left and right in Europe lol

What is exactly the problem?

So you flew from Rome with a layover in Amsterdam and landed at your final destination Los Angeles? What seems to be te problem? The layover or your end destination? You checked your itinerary before your flight right?

I got stuck in Amsterdam for over 24 hours.

Was this due to delays? A missed flight? Or simply the way the flights were booked?

We landed in Amsterdam a little late, and then sat on the tarmac under after my next flight had already left. Oddly, the website now shows that second flight, which left on time, as being cancelled. Even if this delay had not occurred, the gates were booked too far away from each other to have made it from one to the other in time. There was no other flight to LA until the next day.

What kind of contact did you have with KLM and your travel agency so far? What did they offer you?

Hand this case over to EU based agency, that will get compensation for you: www.flightright.com
