A guy I've been texting turned on me (19f)

So, a guy I've been texting for the past month has recently turned really hostile and this was the second time. He knows I'm a virgin, it was something that came out when we first started talking and he was completely okay with it. We don't have a class together, so we've just been texting, but two weeks ago he completely stopped replying to my messages. I kept trying to reach him and eventually just stopped because I was afraid of being clingy. Last night he messaged me saying he wanted to take me on a date but I was asleep and I woke up to a bunch of missing calls from him.

Early this morning I finally texted him and he got upset and thought I was being petty by not replying and when he told me about the date he said plans had to be changed because he was going to be busy. I apologized and told him what happened and he then told me that he wants to date me and that I should allow him to take him on a date but that he was done trying to text me because it doesn't work for us. I asked what he meant and he said that I should only text him when I'm ready to go on a date because he's already tried the whole messaging thing and it's pointless. I told him that I wanted to be able to communicate with him and actively get to know him and he started getting really mean. He told me I was doing too much by constantly questioning him and called me a fat pig and blocked my number. I spent most of the afternoon crying and wondering if I should have just said yes. He's really nice in person and was thoughtful and stuff when we first met. He even bought me a coffee before my class when I told him I was feeling tired. It's just the texting that he doesn't like and I'm confused on what I should be doing better. Should I have done something better?

Just cut off this guy completely. Don’t go on a date or do anything with him. If he’s acting like this now he is definitely not someone you want to date or even be friends with.

Thanks, it's hard to accept that.

When people show you who they really are, believe them. Based on your description, it sounds like this guy doesn't have the emotional maturity to handle things that don't 100% go his way. And you never know when what he wants, changes.

Starting to understand that more.

No where after she explains how the guy called her a fat pig does she express any desire to still date the guy. She asks what she could've done different, sure, but that is not the same thing.

She just posted that she's about to lose her virginity with him this fri

1

She cries wondering if she should have said yes. Then she says he's a really nice guy really. Then she asks herself if maybe she could've done better.

I'd say yeah she wanted to have another chance

You're being very rude and thus I am going to report your replies from now on.

I wasn't going to say anything because I personally feel like everyone else have perfectly responded. However, I noticed the post getting a few upvotes...and now it's at 0. Weird that most posts made by women just get downvoted a bunch.

Even my replies to people are getting downvoted. I've just gotten used to it.

This is the worst sub you could've asked this. People here are mostly virgins and don't have a lot of dating experience. Ask this somewhere else, you'll not find any substance here.

He sounds controlling. He shouldn’t make you feel guilty for not responding especially since he went silent for two weeks. Block him on everything and treat him like he doesn’t exist. Nice people don’t insult other people’s weight, he was probably never nice to begin with.

hes trying manipulate you cut him off

As someone who just went trough something similar (minus calling the other person things), I empathize with him. Seems like you were talking for weeks without any date, so you were stringing him along. And that's really frustrating. He didn't turn hostile, he just moved on, as he should do.

AnswerAccomplished40OP•

How was I stringing him along? Also, calling someone names isn't hostile?

notasimp_2•

I asked what he meant and he said that I should only text him when I'm ready to go on a date because he's already tried the whole messaging thing and it's pointless.

Here is where I got that you were stringing him along. He believes if you wanted to go out you two would have already gone out, because you were texting for weeks. So, to him, you were keep this relationship alive even though you never intend to go out with him. He felt used and like a back up plan.

I guess he did turn hostile, but it wasn't out of nowhere. Like I said, it's very frustrating.

A girl doesn't need to date a guy just because they're talking.

3
notasimp_2•

Not what I'm talking about. He clearly has asked her out before. We don't know how she reacted, but she probably refused or flaked.

You shouldn't be stressed that the guy you're dating will go off on you if you take longer to reply to him. Look how much stress he has already 'caused you, that times much more is what any future with him looks like. In his case, nothing you ever do will be enough and you will always be stressed trying to please him. And what will he be doing? Doing whatever he wants, because apparently it's okay for him to not text you back in days(or whatever amount of time) but you can't just sleep and reply to him later. Take time to heal within. Regain self confidence. And keep looking 'cause he is NOT it.

Being nice but also calling someone "Fat Pig", isn't a great combination

He's literally a waste of time. Why be around someone who's harsh? It's a good thing he's showing his true colors now and not later. It's best to just forget about him!

That guys toxic

He's a manipulative, abusive POS that's now shown you his true colors. You did nothing wrong. The best thing to do now is block him and forget about that loser-- he completely wasted your time.
