A Woman's Heart

Poem

A woman's heart,

is like birds, flying through the air,

is like the color purple,

is like ice, forming upon a lake,

is like velvet and doves.

It is like a ball of dust,

blown by the wind,

to become but a cloud,

which dissipates with a thick summer air.

It is like the first bite

of a ripened and peeled orange.

Where the juice flows down your throat,

across your tongue and teeth,

where the pulp,

squeezes against your cheeks.

A woman's heart,

is like pure innocence,

yet filled with a black temptation,

a curse of desire,

which lures one into death.

It is like edges of sky,

in which is slowly becoming space,

where blue becomes black,

and emptiness,

and silence,

a vacuum of nothingness.
