My boss and I basically just did this and she didn’t understand why I was so entertained.

You called me over!
This scene is so fucking funny and organic. It reminds me of that other quick bit where they cut to Roger recording his memoirs and talking about how he likes chocolate ice cream but his mom always made him get vanilla, before he gets interrupted. It's so random and makes you laugh and go "WHY IS THAT IN THERE??" But it's just brilliant lol.
Mad Men is covertly one of the funniest shows out there.
Most scenes with Harry are like this.
I miss phone booths!
They need to make a small comeback. At least in an office space like this. It's nice to have privacy for a phone call or video meeting without having to reserve a conference room.
They kind of are. At my office we have booths to take video/web calls in. Just kind of a private place to not disturb others around you.
I wish we had this. People sitting next to you taking a meeting at their desk is annoying, but we only have a couple of quiet places to go.
I freakin love this scene so much
Honestly one of the best scenes in the whole show. Hilarious
Just watched this episode
Which season and episode?
Season 5 i think episode 6 - Pete just nailed the dude on the trains wife the day before and was calling her.
You should show her the clip then
I did, I mentioned that in the post. She got a kick out of it
It's such a brilliant moment and i'm so glad they did it
It might seem a bizarre choice, but this is hands down my favorite scene in Mad Men. It's just so incredibly real to life, I love that they included it.
Every rewatch, upon seeing Pete sitting in that phone booth, I go full Leo DiCaprio pointing at the screen.
Mad Men has so many of those weird inexplicable moments that only seem to happen in real and are never shown in media
Sopranos has the same!
I need to watch Sopranos.
Oh, please please please do! Very similar to mad men in content and quality.
Did you get pears?
We'll talk inside!
I think she says “discuss it” which is even better, like there is so much to discuss about the pears.
Another fav lol
There are probably way better examples, but one that springs to mind is don saying to Henry "do you mind", Betty saying "it's fine", and then Henry's exasperated "does that mean I should stay, or not stay?"
Another great one!
