Dumps in Centra CT?

Ask Connecticut

Hi everyone, I’ve recently inherited a large mess and the town dump where I live has just converted to recycling only. Google hasn’t been much help as I keep getting sponsored ads for businesses that don’t seem to exist anymore.

Is anyone aware of a dump, preferably relatively near West Hartford, where I can purchase a membership to take carloads of assorted trash? Or have an alternative suggestion? Thanks for your help.

You get a dumpster. Fill it, then the company you got it from takes it away. Done ✔️

This is the answer. Most town dumps only allow residents to dump and some ever still charge them.

Found this on the West Hartford city page that might be a way you can schedule a pickup.

Other than that, yeah, it's a mess. I'm in Danbury and am lucky that we have a transfer station in town with "mom & pop" drop off for both garbage and recycling.

You'll have to call to check but I think EH opened up their dump to non permits and charge extra. You can give them a call to check I'd non residents are permitted

I’ve heard that the Manchester transfer station takes non-residents but you pay a higher price. I’d give them a call to confirm before you go, though.
