Blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne, but small scale

Hey pals!

Do you like Warhammer? Boy I fell deep into this rabbit hole!! I've been collecting war cry minis for age of sigmar for the better part of COVID and have only been able to play war cry a handful of times. Is anyone interested in joining me for some skirmish games?

I have plenty of factions (a lot still need to be painted lol) to play with so if you're new or have interest please hit me up too :) I'm very much a newb so don't stress about it.

I'm also super interested in learning Age of Sigmar proper, if you have experience and are down for smaller scale battle(s)

Ideally whoever is interested is also younger (I'm in my late 20s), queer or queer friendly, and not allergic to cats :) i have 2.

I've been trying to get into this, but it's so intimidating. Between all the lore and what not, I wouldn't even know where to start, what to get, or if I'm getting screwed.

Do they have a Warhammer for dummies?

That's kinda what Warhammer war cry is! It's like baby Warhammer lol

I was in your same position a few years ago. Now it occupies all my free time lol.

For lore, check out the Horus Heresy. I intended to just read the first couple of books to give me a basic understanding of the world. Now I'm about to start the 27th novel of the series.

And you can buy some cheap models to practice on and learn. I bought some Chaos Cultists at Battlegrounds for like $10.

Check out "every warhammer faction explained" by Bricky on youtube. Its like a crash course in warhammer in a fun entertaining neat little package and its how I got interested in the community.

Battlegrounds has Warhammer nights i think.

Battlegrounds is pretty much the place to go to for any tabletop miniature game. Their setup is unreal.

I know the GW store has events, and battlegrounds does a Warhammer night if I'm not mistaken. Do you have space to play?

My dad, brother, and I got super into playing/painting Warhammer over the pandemic and now whenever I go visit him we always get into some games but we've only ever played 40k. Does Warhammer AoS play any different?

3
chaoticwordsOP•

It does play a little different, from what I have gathered. I mostly play aos so limited 40k knowledge

2
Hexxodus•

I sorta figured it might be a bit different since guns and future tech are involved but since its still GW I figured they might consolidate their rule sets to be similar so one could hop back and forth between games. But im always down for more grimdark! Are Skaven in Warcry?

3
chaoticwordsOP•

You betcha there's skaven! I don't own any skaven but do have almost everyone else.

3
Hexxodus•

Haha well theyre like the only AoS faction I know 😅

One of us, one of us

I definitely think it’s worth reaching out to the warhammer store in short pump to set up some games

Plus they have free models and you can set up paint classes :D
