What's your favorite Sam (or Sam inspired) meal?

Kind of a long post.. so if you have a short attention span, sorry. I got to thinking the other day... I think I've been watching this channel now about 5-6yrs. I owe a lot to Sam and his videos. I'm admittedly a simpleton in the kitchen and he's made even me look like a pretty damn good cook quite a few times. Being a simpleton, I tend to gravitate to the easy things he makes. So I was trying to do my top 5, and I think I have it. Just thought it'd be interesting to see others favorites... Easy or hard doesn't matter.

Gnocchi and Meatballs -- This one is a staple here and we have it at least once or twice a week. Just so easy and fast. Surprised me how much I like it as I'm not a big on pasta dishes. Throw this together with the simple garlic bread he made in another video... Heaven. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUBNjqkAC8w

Breakfast casserole -- Again, another staple here and more "Sam inspired". I did his first and it was great. "Ours" is a bit more "traditional" (diced red/green pepper, maple sausage, ham, cheese, etc.). Freaking epic breakfast dish.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqAH1rOJIoQ

Grilled cheese and Tomato soup -- Comfort food is right (and at it's finest) with this one. Great when someone is not feeling so great or on a cold winter night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKBcF1-puG8

Chicken with Mac and Cheese -- Probably the "hardest" dish he's done that I make and still simple. Definitely not like Mom made it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgyaIzVeAT8&t

Fried Pasta Tacos -- I have to choose these just cuz "I asked for them" :). These things are awesome for game days, as he said. Can make them the night before and toss them in the freezer. Super easy bread and fry up. I've made his Italian version and the original Mexican version, and both deliver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF59IqGNXWE&t

Don't eat shitty food.

Thanks Sam.

Jambalaya. One of my favorite episodes and a great meal.

Honey garlic wings. So good.

2019-era steak sheet pan dinner. This is the video that started me down the StCG rabbit hole.

Yup, I've had the Jambalaya a few times as well. I'd never had it prior to following Sam's instructions, but it is really good.

Actually now that I think about it .. haven't had it in probably 6-7mo. That might be dinner tomorrow.

I keep meaning to do that Costco chicken bake. I've never had the original though, so can't compare . Maybe this weekend

I wouldn’t worry about not having the original… it’s so good you’ll love it

Short rib ragu. I make it at least once a month and my wife loves it.

The short rib birria and the short rib ragu. I'm a sucker for braised short rib.

There’s a chicken one where he makes a jalapeño cream sauce that I love. I make just the sauce all the time, and on chicken it’s amazing as well.

So simple, but that yougurt/cilantro and jalapeño sauce. I do grilled chicken sandwiches a couple times a week usually and that goes so well with it.

Indian butter chicken is one of my favorites too and I made it fully expecting to really hate it.

Lastly would be the buffalo chicken stir-fry with the udon noodles and homemade ranch. Throw some crispy won-tons on it if you ever make it.

Alright, that's it before I keep thinking of more.

Ive made his maple chipotle beans my go to for pot luck. Kaula pork sliders, with left overs egg benny is the dish that rocks my family world

I went to the website to look up a recipe, and found the muchie category.

Tater tots with his chili garlic/mayo/green onion dip is so easy to make, but it elevates the tots so much.

I like easy, tasty, somewhat healthy munchies, so this is a go-to I make as often as possible. Unfortunately, there's a shortage of the chili garlic sauce where I am, so I haven't been able to make it recently.

pasta aglio y olio with lamb meat balls. just made it last night. my wife calls it the panty-dropper. I've followed Sam for years and made a ton of his meals. If I made a cookbook it would have to be titled "Plagiarism."

Lol, awesome.

The enchiladas where the sauce is basically 50/50 chorizo and heavy cream. Insanely delicious, but banned after one family meal by my wife. Its got an absurd amount of fat. Tried making a “light” version and it was no bueno…

Did you tell her fat means flavor? :)

The baked ziti is a staple in our house. So simple but so delicious. Max would be proud

I make a slightly modified version of Sam's shepherd's pie pretty regularly. It's just so good.

The turkey burgers are my wife’s favorite and I make them at least once a month. Carne asada is also a staple in the family and show up on plates a couple times a month.

He did a mushroom pasta a couple months ago that has risen to fame in my house very quickly.

Other honorable mentions:

  1. Sweet & sour grilled chicken (4th of July 2022)
  2. Mediterranean chicken (from his wife’s favorite meal video)
  3. Tequila lime grilled chicken
  4. Homemade hamburger helper
