The Flexibility Friday Archive
We used to have 'Flexibility Fridays' on r/bodyweightfitness. I thought it was a good fit for r/flexibility.
- Quads and hip flexors: the main groups under stretch in a front split.
- Neck: tightly intertwined with thoracic flexibility, a lack of which causes 'computer guy posture'.
- Lats: needed for proper overhead range of motion; helpful with handstands.
- Wrists: healthy wrists are extremely important if you play an instrument, use the computer a lot, do a martial art or spend a lot of time on your hands.
- The squat: the most fundamental human movement.
- Ankles and calves: essential for building a proper squat
- Thoracic spine: tightly intertwined with neck flexibility, lack of thoracic flexibility is one of the main causes of 'computer guy posture'.
- Hip adduction: the main group of under stretch in a middle split.
- Shoulder external rotation: related to 'computer guy posture'.
- Hamstrings: the main groups under stretch in a pike.
- Biggest Bang for your Buck Stretches: the series finale.
