His live raps are so clean
I was thing the same thing. This is the first live performance I have seen from him but damn if it don't sound like its studio quality.
From videos that I've seen, Drake has to be one of the beat sounding rappers when performing live. He doesn't do what the majority of rappers do which is cupping the microphone and just shouting the lyrics.
Good habits from singing.
Yeah I always wondered if concerts are any fun because they sound like every other person on the planet. At least thats what I capture from youtube.
Concerts are just one giant party that your favorite artists are hosting. They are fun even if their songs don't sound how they do on the record.
Had the privilege to see Drake in concert and can say he sounds just like he does on his albums. Marvin's room live was unreal.
I bet alot of panties were wet.
Nice that was so unique and peaceful!
Degrassi Degrassi Degrassi my stage presence look like Lagasse (BAM)
/noflow
Degrassi Degrassi stage presence Lagasse
There he go
I thought the way he censored himself was cool as fuck, I'm sure he practiced it a ton.

Everything Was The Same.
Goddamn this is the Drake that I like. That hook is pretty nice, and I like how it segues into the verses too.
Forreal tho, how much make up does he have on? I know all celebrities have some on when they're on tv, but this looks pretty heavy for Drake. Looks like has eyeliner on and everything.
Either way, I can dig the song. Looking forward to that studio version, though I hope it's as stripped down as this.
Drake kinda always has that eye liner look tho. That light skin wonder.
Damn I am really feeling this but Drake just cracks me up with the facial expressions he makes, excessive blinking, and hand gestures.
I can't wait to hear how this sounds in the studio
So far my favorite tracks from NWTS:
Too Much
Hold On, We're Going Home
All Me
Wu-Tang Forever
Started From the Bottom
Edit: After listening to this 6 or 7 times I think it's already one of my top 5 favorite songs from him all time. Atta boy Aubrey
So all the ones that have dropped so far
I meant order from favorite (1.) to least favorite (5.) lol
No "The Language"?...BLASPHEMY!
am I the only one who really enjoyed "the motion" even if it's not an album song?
No.
It is an album song. It is a Best Buy bonus track...
and I think that track is amazing...
yo that track is my favorite thing he's dropping in a minute
Annnnd I just realized I've already heard like half the album already. Fuck.
1/3
This makes me feel a little better
My rule is only listen to a single once a every two weeks until the album drops. Sometimes I can't control myself though... Numbers on the board was just too good
You forgot Jodeci and The Motion.
Jodeci isn't on the album but The Motion is Best Buy exclusive.
Why is started from the bottom your least favorite? I'm really just wanting to hear your opinion
I have liked everything off NWTS so far, it's just my least favorite of the five. I don't actually dislike it. That being said, I find it a little repetitive and boring. I also think his verses could have been longer and he could have said more about how he started from the bottom.
Although I'm a huge Drake stan, I can understand how he gets shit for the song. I understand how he started from the bottom of the music industry etc but he needed to elaborate more on what he meant by started from the bottom.
Na Drake had it right by laying back on the beat. Notice how every remix of the track had dudes just rapping as fast as they could? Notice how it sounded like shit when they did that...less is more with the SFTB beat and Drake understood that. Tracks fire.
That's your opinion.
And I didn't say I wanted him to rap faster at all. I just think each verse could have been longer to support his claim that he started from the bottom. And don't get me wrong, it's still a fun song.
Fuck this nigga is on fire.
Nigga has been on fire since 2009

all my LA girls..lemme see ya hands. Wave em at them bitches hatin on you with they friends. Girl you got it. Let em know that everything did. Nail done, hair done, everything big
And when a fire starts to burn, it'll start to spread.
DAT EXCESSIVE BLINK
got chills tho
Gotta blink back those tears...
This was good though, he could def do an uplugged set
Yeah man felt I some goosebumps, like real talk I thought a single tear was going to slip out of his eye.
That uncle's bucket list scheme had me like "daaaamn"

...no
and people say Drake isn't real... This shit was straight up emotion. Love it.
and people say Drake isn't real
Those are people that either don't listen to Drake or only have heard The Motto on the radio.
either drake isn't real or he's a pussy
damn
Drake is "real" but too soft.
On what fucking scale, homie? Y'all wanna be hard mother fuckers must have a fucking litmus test for this shit. Just downvote or scroll on if this isn't for you. I'm aware that people can comment and do their thing and it's encouraged, but I just wonder why y'all bother?
These people are just stuck on being hardcore. Always posin with guns; shootin YouTube up. We should probably just chuck the deuce up.
what.
Some of Drake is real, a lot of Drake isn't real, I think people's main gripe with him is that he's corny and effeminate.
I think people's main gripe with him is that he's corny and effeminate
there's a tinge of homophobia in a lot of drake haters, not gonna lie
real men aint afraid to cry
drake understands these real nigga tears
Don't think that's homophobia
What's the correct word for it then? If you think being effeminate is an inherently bad thing, aren't you just perpetuating gender roles saying that men have to act like this and women have to act like that? "Homophobia" is just the closest word I can think of. It's not just the hatred/fear of gay people, its also the hatred/fear of traditionally "gay" concepts, or actions outside of your prescribed gender roles.
There's a reason that his demographic is mainly younger white women and teenagers in general, it's not that people can't get emotional it's that people have outgrown being emotional about the things Drake does songs about. He's a one man boy band.
This statement is so wrong on so many different levels.
Actually, I would argue the exact opposite. His topics are universal. He doesn't only talk about relationships, but he talks about his mom growing old, his relationship with his dad, the struggle of "What if one day I can't deliver". All of which are things that even people in their 30s think about. I'm not gonna turn this song on one day and think "Wow, now that I'm 24, this is stupid".
How is he not real though?
By saying things like "catch a body" and verbalizing violence that he's never seen or been a part of in his life. Faking it if you will.
And Eminem called himself a serial killer. And Rick Ross said he knows the real Noreaga. And Earl Sweatshirt called himself a "hot and bothered astronaut". HE'S NO FUCKING ASTRONAUT!
Such fake.
"You going to hype me up and make me catch a body like that" He saying he will kill someone not that he has. And I wouldn't even take that so literally since in his next line he saying rapping is his life not just a hobby so he'd kill for it.

WHHAT it recognized adblock and made me wait!!! this has never happeened to me before
hulu on some 2 minute ad type of shit too now. shit is craze.
Friend of mine in the industry says they might be putting in shit that takes how long your video is and gives you a series of advertisements that's at equal length. Not even joking, shit is fucked up.
So basicly making it like TV?
Hulu's been on it for a while.. lots of sites starting to catch up though..
Putlocker been doing me dirrrty latey. i'm if it wasn't for youtube ad's i'd pause adblocker for a while.
Putlocker and Sockshare do this now too.
For real, I was like fuck you mean I need to watch an ad?
lik dis if u cry evertim
I'm still crying
Can't go to sleep
Too scared 2 drown in tearz.
all I do is lay around...2 earz full of tearz...
is there room for Tamia on this sub?
That verse about his family was really dope. I usually don't be feeling Drake but I like this.
Man that shit was real talk, I loved it. I was listening to look what you've done before too and it made me feel this song way harder
The grandma on the phone just makes me shiver.
When I see people refer to Drake as "party rap" I always imagine that phone message part playing at some loud house party and everyone just stops what they're doing, goes silent, and looks pretty sad.
People might think Drake complains too much about being famous but IMO that's what makes him one of the realiest in the game right now. He's honest in his music.
Is it me or is that first piano chord the same one that 'Over my dead body' starts with too? Really dug this song btw the transitions into the verses were great and Sampha has such a smooth voice.
Sounds similar, at least. When I heard it, I was like, "is this man really about to do a song off of Take Care?"
Yep I had that same thought. Wasn't mad though, I love "Over My Dead Body". Best song on Take Care in my opinion
That's and look what you've done are mine. Love the emotional rap drake. In look what you've done I always choke at the "you said that and you meant that" part.
reminds me a lot of Fear and Say What's Real (my favorite drake songs). was kind of hoping for a third verse/longer second verse.
Reminds me more of The Calm
Are you forgetting The ride? Which he referenced in the first line? This is the ride of NWTS
The beat sounds so dope. Cant wait to get a CDQ.
😭
😁
😨 That's me gasping for breath rn
🗿
😔
😩
Sampha makes this track IMO
Never heard of Sampha tbh and he did great, honestly really great, but GODDAMN did you hear what Drake said? He got deep, his flow was nice, he put so much into this song it seems...man. This is 110% Drakes track. IMO
Na he was great but those drake bars were pure emotion.
Idk if he MADE the track. The track would be just as good if the weeknd did the hook, or partynextdoor, or Miguel, Hell even if Drake did the hook.
Sounds like James Blake to me. I'm surprised Blake isn't on the album.
That's the guy in SBTRKT right? Or they did a song together or whatever
SBTRKT is one dude but Sampha is a frequent collaborator with him. Glad to see him getting some exposure!
Would love a track produced by SBTRKT on NWTS
nope, still drake ft drake. Sampha did well though
fucking love Sampha. Drake has really fucking good taste in music
drake fucking murdered this. the hype is real
I need more Sampha in my life, I've listened to SBTRKT and his EP too many times already.
that zoom during the second verse had me feeling some type of way. Everything about this performance was perfectly executed. NWTS might just save us. Now im actually disappointed the album was pushed back till next week.
That song was deep I felt everything he was saying.
Oh my god, this is pretty amazing. We got Bars Drake.
Yeah this is my favourite thing from NWTS so far. Drake rapping with passion on this track. I dig the hook too. And damn when that beat comes in I get chills. I can die happy after hearing that second verse.
I want a version of this album where Drake stares into my eyes the whole time.
Drake is so versatile and so passionate about his music. He's definitely one of the best out there currently.

Seriously. A year ago it was straight "DAE REAL HIPHOP".
more like a year and a half. last year we liked chief keef, flocka, and were talking about how dissapointed we were about cruel summer
Naw way more than a year ago.

Ive never heard of Sampha but damn hes got good vocals
Check out his work with SBTRKT
Drake was on a SBTRKT remix, too
Such a fantastic song, I love the production, thanks for reminding me of it.
His collaborations with SBTRKT are good
I also recommend his track with Jessie Ware "Valentine"
Check out "the motion" with drake as well. It's so good.
<3 that song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In5rToFvaNo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4KqbA4sl_s
also his latest EP 'Dual'
Try this song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtvKfcla-EE
track would be better with just him.
As much as I love Sampha, I think Drake used him great.
He blinks too much for that. He was probably trying not to cry. Forreal it's good shit though.
