Windows 8.1 w/ SonicWALL SSLVPN (NetExtender) problems

So, NetExtender doesnt work for crap in Windows 8.1 (crashes during installation) and the built in driver wont connect to a non-standard port. Anyone have any experience with getting around this or getting netextender to work?

I have NetExtender 7.0.201 running fine on 8.1 Enterprise RTM.

Where did you get 7.0.201 from? The latest release (and the one I am using) is 7.0.196.

Did .201 work for you?

No, because NetExtender is so fucked in 8.1, I could not uninstall the application. I am just reformatting back to 8. This is ridiculous.

Just jumping in for people coming in through google (like I did :)) who couldn't find it -

Find your SRA model. Version 7.0.201 is available under the newest firmware.

Thanks for the download link. I finally got it working on Windows 8.1.

Nevermind, I found it. Was looking in free downloads, not under the SRA 1600 firmware

Its a common issue, I think you will have to wait for an update of NetExtender.

With 8.1 being released on the 17th, this is rather infuriating. A company of that size shouldnt have that many delays in a key product like this, especially when 8.1 preview has been out for so long.

Almost as bad as Kaseya not releasing KAV to a version that supports Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, almost.

Bastards.

I tried with the June 26 build with a VM and came as "frustrated" as you. I dont know if NetExender or Microsoft came up with an update since, but we are sticking with Windows 7 until a final build is released and fully tested. The users are not that excited about Windows 8 so I guess it is not critical for the moment, but I would imagine that would be of some importance for other people !

Have you contacted support? They often have early releases available that can help with problems like this...

Have you tried installing it as W7 program?

Have you tried disabling digital certificates on win8.1 and attempt a re install?

The install package is so messed up, you cannot uninstall it. Even manually digging through the registry to remove all keys didnt work. Either way, I have already reformatted my machine back to Windows 8.
