I had to RMA a Nest Cam IQ Outdoor that had the 5 day subscription on it, and once I got the new camera, I am being told that I can only sign up for the new plans, which dont have continuous video recording (for less than $120). That means for someone who has only 1 camera, I would now have to pay $120 to get any video recording, when I used to pay $50 for it. This is a subscription change that I would not have had to change if I kept the original camera, but the RMA process doesnt allow you to transfer subscriptions.

The support rep I am chatting with doesnt understand the loss in functionality, and keeps trying to push these inferior (for my situation) products.

I have a T540 that I am moving to a different datacenter. The new DC will use a different IP scheme, so I need to change the management IP address of this appliance. I have attempted to look in the tintri KB articles, but have been unable to find anything. Unfortunately, this appliance is no longer under warranty, so I dont think Tintri support will be able to assist me.

Has anyone defaulted/changed the management address on one of these appliances?

I'm looking for some assistance/direction to backup some Windows VMs that are hosted on Google Cloud.

While the Snapshot feature fits our needs, I have been unable to find a method to automate them. All of my research points to using https://github.com/jacksegal/google-compute-snapshot or https://github.com/grugnog/google-cloud-auto-snapshot, which are both tailored for Linux VMs (run bash scripts as cron jobs).

Would it be best to just stand up a small debian instance and just run the cron job from there, or is there another method that I am missing?

Did anyone else just loose channel 7 (WDSU) from their Cox lineup? I lost it on all boxes in the house, and coxcommitment.com is down.

Anyone else effected by the current Level 3 outage?

Several client racks in their COLOs are down plus 90% of the client office.

I was hoping some of yall could provide me with a little high-level guidance in the planning and design of a hosting environment.

I am in the process of planning a backup solution for some of our clients (we are an MSP). Currently it is small scale with some shitty SonicWALLs and small business Cisco switches. It is setup as hot-sites with a VPN tunnel between sites and it is isolated via simple VLANs and firewall rules.

We are in the process of planning a multi-tenant backup solution and I was wondering if yall could critique the current networking design, and possibly provide me with some guidance on how to better optimize the plan.

For hardware, we are looking at using a pair of Nexu

So a client of mine uses Zimbra (one off network, not our standard), and they had a malware breakout recently. I have rolled back most of my VMs, but am still noticing a shitload of MTA messages being sent via Zimbra. On the likes of 30k messages/night (less than 100 user organization). What would be the easiest way to actually monitor this info in such a way that I can determine where it is originating, who the sender is, and some basic info about the email ("metadata") to determine what is SPAM and what isnt?

I have looked through the logs, and am not seeing anything that would represent the massive volume of emails being sent at once.

I am looking into some architecture changes within our environment (beginnings of small scale IAAS), and looking to simulate a workload on the POC boxes we are looking at in order to come up with a standardized metric of the overall performance, in order to rank realized performance (the vague marketing statements of "100 VDIs per box" are worthless). The goal of this environment will be to host two separate environments, one for client server hosting and the other for VDI hosting

Anyone have any small scale (POC environment will most likely be 4x compute nodes w/ somewhere between 24 to 48 threads and 96-192 GB of RAM) methods to objectively assign a performance metric that can then be as

I work for a network consulting firm, and one of our newest branches is offering hosted VDI/server infrastructure. While we have some spooled up and can perform all of our functionality internally on our environment, we are looking into building out one (or more) small PoC boxes that could be brought on-site and host, say 20 VMs/VDIs as a POC/sales demo. We would be using ESXi and View to manage this.

We were hoping for something small and portable, and thus far havent been able to easily find a solution that would fit our needs. The form factor that I have been hoping for is near the HP Microserver, or the Lian Li PC-V351B MicroATX. This was primarily motivated by a [post](http://theit
